My piano piece ‘getting to know each other’ is out today as part of the new @section1.world solo piano compilation

The piece is a dialogue between different piano elements and deals with both the euphoric and confusing awkwardness of getting to know a new person. It starts with a call n response between a very simple riff played on a grand piano and a melody answering both in pitch and completely out of tune. It’s been fun playing a very expensive newly tuned grand piano and also layering 5 upright pianos each in its own very bad shape. The riff transitions into an ostinato and another piano enters and tries to learn that ostinato - sines played with an EBow on the piano strings flow on top.
Looking back I guess I treated the piano more like a guitar and tried to mess a little with this clean and precise sounding instrument.

The whole album will be out Nov 22

INTRODUCING APEIRO

APEIRO is Nonagon’s outdoor stage, welcoming a broad array of musical acts throughout the day and evening. Come nighttime, APEIRO is also where the festival culminates following the final performances in NONA.

APEIRO is the spot for hanging out, grabbing some food, enjoying jazz in the daytime and a dance at night. After nightfall, the MYRIA cistern is used as a backdrop for visuals accompanying the performances on stage.

At previous editions of Nonagon, APEIRO has been graced by the likes of ML Buch, Jafar the Superstar, Dold and Bottenvikens Silverkyrka.
