123 families this week.
Over 300 miles driven sandwiching Portland from Forest Grove to Gresham, Molalla, Sandy, and Vancouver.

The last two weeks, 254 family meals were delivered to homes. All at no cost and zero question.

Our growth is amazing, and I'm so proud to be supported by a great team to help make this happen. 4 of us in the kitchen, 1 route planner, 1 meal sorter, 2 delivery comms, and 11 drivers.

It took all of us, you who continue to share our menu and weekly needs plus the continued support through in-kind and monetary donations. Our supporters is what makes all of this happen.

We all want to help, and make a difference, so we continue to try.

Happy Birthday MCK PDX inc

1 year ago today, I officially filed paperwork to turn Milk Crate Kitchen into a non-profit. I am so grateful and thankful for everyone who has volunteered, donated and supported us through the last year. So many great people, helping support our community. Truely blessed. I could only tag 20 but there are so many more!!!

Thank you to @sindhupandian from @forgoodnesscakespdx for providing these yummy cupcakes. Their cause is a great one, please give them a look.

Delivery days are amazing. Knowing 60 meals are going to 47 homes is what this is all about.

Total cost of of ingredients $103.42

Cost to feed a family of 4 $1.73

Cost to them $0

@clackamasservicecenter came through LARGE. Organic chicken, brussels, cabbage, carrots and rice all coming through them. Such a great organization that we have partnered with to help our community.

@ohemjiii and @staywhatyouareee killed it with me in the kitchen. We prepped, cooked and portioned at our community kitchen. Without them, nothing would taste great and without @paratodospdx we wouldn't have a place to cook.

@piffinpdx routed and was the magician behind the scenes and handled comms this week with @ginger.scallion.

@thespicyolive took care of handing off our meals to our drivers @monstergibbons @paddyfitz16 @durkadurka2 @khristilevack @thelibrarianbarbarian and @wildcardpdx_

All volunteering. All here to help our community. I'm so grateful. Thank you.

Another week in the books, time to clean and reset. 52 family meals was a great way to start the new year. I couldn't have done this alone. Seriously.

First @gooseygoosifer amd @thewalk4change came through with over 120 pounds of beef for our families. 🙏

@piffinpdx did all the leg work behind the scenes and set our routes, while @ohemjiii @ginger.scallion @elsbethlo helped me in the kitchen.

@lizlaverne @thelibrarianbarbarian @khristilevack @wildcardpdx_ @monstergibbons meet with @thespicyolive to distribute and deliver our meals.

Thank you so much for helping make this possible. I'm humbled every week at the support we recieve here.

Now time to think of next weeks meal... I'm thinking polenta.

Holy cow...

What a week. I'm blessed to be part of this community. With @thestorykgw 12 new families found MCK. Amazing...

35 family meals this week. Let's talk about who helped make this possible.

@blanchethouse with the rice @clackamasservicecenter with the meat and local farmer Bloomin' Boutique providing the most of the veggies helped so much. @jilly5656 and @fuuuuuuuuuudge helping prep and portion.

@piffinpdx and @la.la.laura.c with coordinating and then there is our amazing drivers... @thespicyolive @khristilevack @thelibrarianbarbarian @wildcardpdx_

Without each and every one of you, this week couldn't have happened.

Thank you. Our community thanks you.

We’re back in business! After two weeks off and two weeks to get up to speed in the new space, I’m officially available Monday to Friday to take guests. And what a perfect way to start the week!

A subtle balayage and trim for McKenzie of @thearena.co 🌼 We grew up going to the same summer camp (who else went to Camp Howard?!) so it’s pretty cool that doing hair has brought folks like McKenzie back into my circle after so many years. If you ever need recommendations for the best local ‘fill in the blank’, give her IG a follow, she’s always sharing something good 😉
