My first Son of Monsterpalooza!
Had a great time vending as @mmix_art . It's interesting that it was our first of this event because this marked the end of one era and beginning of another for us. I don't know more details yet, I just know we want to improve what we're doing even more.

What I did not anticipate was the Twin Peaks panel with Sherilyn Fenn, Ray Wise, Jeremy (Alter?) made me lose it. I was crying almost the whole time. It really was just another affectionate memory of David Lynch and the words got to me in particular. I truly feel that David Lynch, human though he was, was a rare artist as one should be--a spiritual healer and fulfiller of a tribal role.

Sherilyn Fenn repeated to the audience what I have heard all great artists/instructors in the many genres of creativity I have studied and pursued paraphrase in some way-- to be your most authentic self in your art and to bring your weirdness is the true blessing. Only you can realize and filter the world as only you can. All of this was the constant ethos that Lynch pursued.

Was also great catching up with @averose13 and @disasterina after many years. I consider them to be artists in this vein too...beings who bring their full weird selves to create only things they could make.

#KeepLAWeird . Keep the world weird. Fasc1sm feeds on the boring and the mid. Be an engine of weirdness or peace if it's too hard to be an engine of joy. The phobes can fix their hearts or 💀. Be what someone younger than you needs to hear.

⚠️ Flashing Lights ⚠️ Behind the making of “The Wolves” from the upcoming record, HYDRA’S RUIN, starting with a rough instrumental demo, which @llfaunt danced to for an @mmix_art video in the “Sexy Robot Noises” series. A few years later, thanks to @kelliiscott, @svrtcntraclt & @alexcrescioni this track is done! The song really came alive in the studio and the band is rehearsing to add it into live sets. I can’t wait for you to hear it!

For a clean version of the footage, be sure to check my site and subscribe in the next couple days 🔗↖️ 👀

IT'S HERE

Big thanks to everyone who jumped in on this first round.

This is a labor of love. My general goal would be to post updated versions of these reels every month or two. However I have no idea what the views will be like or whether anyone cares. The energy I feel I've been getting back has been passive apathy at best, so maybe we'll get left behind (are y'all AI lovers getting raptured?). Hahaha.

At any rate, I personally just prefer human art. Apart from the "shoot us to climate collapse quicker" energy of what data centers consume, etc.

Anyway, this feels like the world's stupidest time to be alive (which is saying a lot because humans used to literally raid each other's cities) but I hope some of you will join me, and us, on this journey.

I do not have the infrastructure or personal capacity to make this more than an IG-reaching endeavor at this time. My apologies. But I am a good connector and I hope this will inspire someone. Feel free to approach me if you want to riff on an idea.

For more on watermarking and tagging your art as AI, go to my pinned post, and as always thank you to @thesugarwitch_co for the watermark.

Want to be in the next one? Just message me with what artist info you want public-facingly.

#Glitchtober2026 Day 1:
"Poison"

As with many in this age, may only the children whose lives he ruined be remembered. And may we remember the legacy that we refuse to repeat as a country.

Every coven needs a place to gather. Ours officially opens October 2. 🖤

AMERICAN WITCH STORY is taking over @parlor13society for one deliciously wicked night. Thirteen artists from across the country, including Atlanta and New Orleans, join local artists for an exhibition steeped in witchcraft, Southern Gothic glamour, and a little dark magic.

It’s also our opening night gala and the official opening of our shop and séance parlor. Come dressed for the occasion, sip specialty cocktails, get a psychic reading, and stay for a burlesque performance. If you’re feeling particularly immortal, reserve one of our limited VIP tintype portrait sittings. 🕯️

Meet our thirteen artists:
@jmonsell @becks.wallace.art @mrs.mimisan @esotericemmaofficial @blackcatatl @eugenehuffmanart @qtrnevermore @mmix_art @phantomheartistry @inlebloom @nevermore.night.market @b2rianls @simonechi_art

📅 Friday, October 2 | 8 PM–midnight
📍 Parlor 13 | 13812 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks
🎟️ Entry is $13 | Tickets at parlor13.com

The doors are opening. Make sure you’re on the right side of them. 🔮

I really needed to take a beat this weekend and be with community in a more tangible way. It's funny, as someone pretty reluctant to use the word "witch" about themselves (if any label I think I prefer "spiritworker" "animist" "[non-AI] technomancer" "cybernaut" or some grab bag of those), I'm woven into a lot of witch community events now. And the public seems very hungry for them, which I have some feelings of this and that about, but at least the public is moving away from fear, because they are seeing real things to be afraid of in the world around us, and clearly witnessing deeply wrong relationship to things (cough, cough, AI water usage and community pollution).

Pics 1-11 from @thewitchscottage1111 Mabon Ball and Market-- I mostly visited with @xanthiapink as well as @xom3solutions at the market. I needed a long moment to sit in the garden meditatively.

Pics 12-14 connected to @recirclehome 's Mabon Market Sunday, more friends I visited with in stories.

Shoutout to @thewitchcollectivezine (pic 14) for doing the right thing & taking a proactive anti-AI stance.

Special thanks to both @julietakurth (pic 12) and @theelementalvalkyrie who took some special time to riff on an idea for an upcoming workshop with me. I realize I haven't taught any workshops since my dance days, so this would be an interesting refocus. Stirring the pot.

As @thattwistedcat has always taught me, remember that the internet is an extension of the 4th dimension.

Happy Fall Equinox. May our harvest wax abundance and connection and wane dystopia.

Hey all, so nobody has really reached out about the watermark designed by @thesugarwitch_co yet. Please know that you're welcome to. Now that I've run it through Nightshade, I might feel better about posting it at least in my stories next week, I dunno. Would love to vet the people who are using it. Not because I'm any governing body in the art world, just to verify human trust.

But if you have a better idea, I'm also super open. Currently I send you to a Dropbox 🔗. Or people should make their own! My attitude towards things is always a very "throw stuff at the wall" one so if it seems like my energy sometimes is noncommittal, that's why. We still need to be in the spirit of trying stuff. It's here if you want it!

For those of witchy inclinations, it does contain protective symbolism in that regard. So if this is just inspo and you want to make your own but something similar, fab! I don't think we feel massively proprietary about this, though I do ask that you acknowledge @thesugarwitch_co
in being the actual artistic creator of the watermark if at all possible. Other collab credits are in my pinned post.

It's finally here!

Please take some time to thoroughly read all these slides to understand our current process and place for landing with this work.

Then reach out for the actual (no-cost) hi-res watermark whenever you want! Or do your own! Make your own! Stick it on your work wherever!

Please do also go read our collab post with @mmix_art for the full details and nitty gritty of why we recommend tagging original art posted here as A I.

Reel with human artist database still coming soon. Any human artists interested are still welcome to submit their desired contact info in the meantime.

PS-- I don't, and have never, used any AI to write captions here, either. I have two English degrees. If they're gonna make me pay back those loans I'm gonna use the full powers of my brain.

Want to support me and The SugarWitch's work with this? Feel free to hire us for other stuff, book us on podcasts or reach out about collabs.

And finally, I want to express real dismay for the fact that as a society we failed all the Gen X tech white hat types who warned us about these moments in privacy and tech 15-16 years ago and earlier. I remember because I remember the conversations. I tried to tell people myself after the real name policy. If you're of a certain age you're bound to know those few friends who worked in tech who simply would not have profiles anywhere on this platform. And while that's not a small biz luxury most could afford, I wish deeply that more people would've listened to you.
