Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, October 22 from 6-8pm. from our juror, Phillip McClure: “Glitter, matchbooks, a crab crawling across your hand. Even the sun and wind. The artists on view in 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 come together under a rainbow of material willingness. By remaining nimble, they keep the window open to unexpected collaborators and exciting twists. abracadabra x abracadabra! ❋ Ta-da! ❋ We were honored to be tasked with designing the artwork for Oakland homies @abracadabra.band’s EP, which @afantano called “undeniably Groovy,” and came out this summer on @Melodic_Records. The music is spectacular, and we had such a blast working with them crystalizing their Tom Tom Club-inspired vision via doodles sourced from the record’s lyrics and themes. It’s been so rewarding watching all the accolades pour in for them with such a stellar release. We encourage you to give ‘em a listen, throw ‘em a follow, and cop one of their limited run CDs (which come with an adorable lyric zine) from their Bandcamp at their link in bio. We intend to collaborate with every abracadabra entity out there…. If you’re one of them, our people will be in touch with your people (or simply slide into our dms) 🌀🌀🌀 We highlighted a few other recent abracadabra! studio projects in our newsletter this morning. honored to be featured on the cover of Issue 7 of Abracadabra❢ WIND MUSEUM i’ve never made a kite before. kites are fun! a note from the makers @bhm_207 + @mmmunder (thank you for having me!!) : - ❋ ta-da❢ ❋ Without further ado, we graciously present the seventh issue of abracadabra❢ ~ WIND MUSEUM 🪁 Last year, after wrapping up our first season of the zine, Maddy and I put our heads together for some deep dreaming and manifesting how the next year of publications would take shape. While there were many mysteries still to uncover, one decision was crystallized from the ether ~ we wanted to do a kite issue. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined that several of our favorite artists, most admired creatives, and multi-talented pals would deliver us a string of wind surfing diamonds of the caliber we humbly received. Normally, we ask contributors to submit a jpg or some words, a mantra or doodle. This time we asked each artist to construct a functional, flying kite from scratch (even the Magician’s Assistant!). The decimal submissions we received were sent via mail or cheerfully delivered to my doorstep, where I greeted friends and new friends alike to chitchat about their creations, learning about their processes and our mutual admiration of wind arts. ‘peel away’ is out today! A big thank you to everyone over at @melodic_records ❤️ We are also extremely grateful to those who shared their talents with us. We worked with our long-time collaborator Jason Kick (@jasonkick) on production, and brought Greg Poneris (@gregponeris) into the studio for drums, K. Dylan Edrich (@pterodacdyl) for percussion and Judith Horn (Jeanne Oss / @judith_horn) for saxophone. We also spent time at @santorecording mixing on that magical Neve board, and then had the EP mastered by Bijan Sharifi (@bijanmakesnoyz). The artwork is by a fellow ‘abracadabra!’ (@bhm_207 and @mmmunder). This collection of songs is an invitation to have a closer look at the planet’s realities which we all must face together - greed, scarcity, ego, exhaustion and escapism - and meet them with acceptance and a genuine desire to grow. To roll up our sleeves and see what part of the mess is available to us in the current moment. The task feels daunting, but we hope these songs will inspire you to dance your way through the wreckage of imperialism and capitalism alongside us. So much feels out of our hands, but we have power together. And at the end of the day we can always choose love instead of hate.

She is currently an MFA candidate at the UGA Lamar Dodd School of Art. Embracing the Imperfect: Creating Texture on Press Saturday August 1, 2026: 1:00pm to 5:00pm Where Downtown Library: Secret Lab Description Learn to remain flexible and spontaneous on the press, embracing the imperfect qualities of type and image in letterpress printing! This program focuses on creating backgrounds for letterpress posters, highlighting several alternative processes for dynamic, relief-printed imagery. Guided by collaborators Liz Isakson-Dado and Maddy Underwood, participants will explore collage techniques for texture. Each participant will letterpress print their own short message in black type on top of their image. #wearehamfam

Today is Wind Museum Day! Celebrate the 7th issue of @mmmunder and @bhm_207 ‘s zine Abracadabra @middle__brow in Chicago. Here are some in-process shots of my kite “Last Dawn” which is an abstracted rendition of an image of the last sunrise of 2025. This kite is an offering of thanks to the sky- My aim was to repurpose materials and not spend money because the sky is a constant source of inspiration at no cost. I felt the need to reflect that in the piece. Props to my pops @willie.blanchard who who assisted on this project by helping me with the frame and letting me use his shop to build and test. Last two pictures are from R&D phase.
