‏Bahá’í House of Worship |

A proposal for the Bahá’í House of Worship in Brasília, designed by Caio Vaz, Mariana Schmidt, and Tiago Cândido, begins not with form but with process. The temple does not stand upon the land as a finished object — it emerges from it. Earthen bricks produced locally, with community involvement in the preparation of the soil and the making of each element, transform collective labor into architectural form and shared memory.

The logic of earthen construction guides every decision: mass, thickness, structural continuity, and thermal inertia work together so that environmental comfort arises from the material itself, not as an afterthought. Nothing is superfluous. The building is not merely erected — it is cultivated, its rhythm determined by the natural processes of drying, curing, and settling. The nine-pointed star, central symbol of the Bahá’í tradition, organizes the geometry as an open, equidistant field where no point takes precedence over another. Architecture and community, here, are inseparable.

At the Tietê Apartment, art is part of everyday life.

A sculptural work by Brazilian artist Celeida Tostes sits among books, furniture and collected objects. Each piece brings its own history and presence, creating an intimate dialogue between art, personal collections and the rituals of living.

Bahá’í Temple, Brasília, Brazil. Commissioned Project, 2026.

The Constructed Unit. Matter has no value in and of itself. Its value lies in the work that passes through it: shaping, laying, erecting. The human gesture does not disappear into matter; it remains inscribed within it.

The temple does not stand upon the land as a finished object. It emerges from the land itself. Before becoming architecture, it manifests as matter.

The building is not merely erected. It is cultivated.

A Unidade Construída.

Ele emerge do próprio território.

living is approached through continuity, where spatial flow defines the experience of the home. soft transitions replace clear boundaries, and each environment unfolds naturally into the next.

the architecture leaves room for change. routines and individual gestures gradually shape the dwelling, making it an evolving reflection of those who occupy it.

Sergio Rodrigues always seemed more interested in creating furniture that reflected the relaxed and welcoming spirit of Brazilian life. His work celebrated comfort and the easy rituals of everyday living, embracing local traditions like the simple pleasure of resting in a hammock.

Designed in 2002, the Diz Lounge Armchair feels like the natural evolution of a language he spent decades developing, defined by warmth and comfort.

Awarded first place at the 20th Prêmio Design do Museu da Casa Brasileira, the Diz remains a quiet reminder that some of the most enduring designs are about making people feel at home.

Concept Stores curated by Thisispaper

A shop can be an argument made in plaster and steel. Here the rail matters as much as what hangs from it, the wall left rough on purpose, the floor poured smooth as a held breath. Goods sit sparse, almost reluctant, so the room itself does the selling. These are interiors that treat commerce as spatial idea, where restraint reads as confidence and the act of looking is the whole point.
