POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here is a letter from our printmaking professor and advisor Edson Rosas addressing Mankato’s own Taylor Corporation, one of the major donors for MSU’s “Future State” campaign and a company which must attribute it’s very roots to the printmaking industry. We hope that the leaders over at Taylor Corporation see how important printmaking is to the development of our students and our community, and choose to back us in fighting for the retention of Professor Edson Rosas and the printmaking discipline at MSU.

Bring a shirt, a piece of paper, a bedsheet, a tote— anything we can print on! This event is free, and is being hosted by print club to raise awareness about the recent decision to cut the printmaking concentration and our beloved professor, Edson Rosas.

Support your local artists and bring something with you to get some free art!

Today we were informed that there are plans to cut the printmaking program at MSU and let go Professor Edson Rosas— our club advisor and the only instructor of printmaking courses at MSU— after the end of the spring semester in May.

We cannot express how incredibly devastated and upset we are, as there are so many students, faculty, and community members that will be affected by this decision.

If you want to help save our program, we urge you to share this post, spread the word, email, and advocate for the retention of both our printmaking program and our favorite professor Edson.

More information will be coming about WOP’s plans for community outreach and advocacy events.

We publish a variety of genres and forms in an all-online journal, including fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, art, comics, and audio or video.
