“The Pansy Hour” opening night and after-party on film.✨

Captured on CineStill 800T with my Canon A-1. Processed and scanned at @fullcirclefineart (duh!)

After @baltimorebanner dropped a feature about the show last week, the entire run sold out in just hours. Submersive announced today that they are extending the show, adding six performances November 20-22 and December 4-6. Those tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 13. Mark your calendars! They will sell out.

“The Pansy Hour” is an immersive theatrical experience celebrating queer joy and resilience in times of oppression. Submersive HQ has been truly transformed into another world. It must be experienced.

Yall mind if I drop a lil life update? A few years ago, I left a show half way through (something I've never done!) because I got sick, & then I just didn’t get better. I tried to make sense of it as a loss of passion, but my health kept declining. Last year, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's a disease where my immune system goes into overdrive & starts attacking the body it's meant to protect. Autoimmune diseases take shape in many ways, in my case, it attacks my joints. This means there are days I can't walk, or get dressed on my own. It's Arthritis driven by severe inflammation driven by a hyper immune system. There's no cure but it is treatable & remission is possible. Since diagnosis, I've been in weekly doctors appointments, monthly labs, constant testing, & a loooot of physical therapy. I now have a whole care TEAM which has been phenomenal. I've received some of the best healthcare since moving to Baltimore. I've been going through low dose chemotherapy for about 8 months now & have recently added Biologics. Kinda like a vaccine for my own body? (I'm still learning!) I have been sick for a long time, but I didn't realize until it got BAD. I thought I was just tired & sore from doing too much in the gym/class/rehearsal, slept the wrong way, depressed or just pure clumsiness. I ignored my pain for a long time bc I thought it meant I was just working hard. I'm grateful to my body for trying its best to take care of me even if it did get its wires crossed. To my family & those who stayed when shit got hard. Despite being confused, scared, overwhelmed. For trying even if you didn't know what to say or do at the time. For refusing to look away or leave me behind. You have been just as vital as my medication in this healing process. Thank you for joining my care team and being in my soul commitee. ✨️Thank you for learning about my illnesses, driving me to procedures, learning my meds, and still coming over to hang out even when I cant get out of bed & sleep all day. Thank you for being here with me, wiping the tears, grabbing the ice packs, and refilling my water bottle. I love you ❤ (1st Photo by Shaquan!)
