20 years and counting of Friendship, while passing the torch to the new generation. E and I often talk about our life in seasons, this season is wild, busy and fun. There are tons of new characters and I’m sure the viewers are having a hard time keeping up, while anxiously awaiting the much-anticipated spin-offs.

Here’s to the next 20 years and beyond! Those kids back at Smith Hall would be so proud of us 🙌🏾

It takes a lot, but I rarely correct JP. When he was younger, I was so nervous about “getting it right” that I would correct and intervene in his every move.

Now I find myself watching more than reacting to his way of doing things. The way I see it, his current way is a window into his mind at this age, and one thing is certain: this version of him will evolve into the boy and man he will one day become.

One day, the push-up form will become legit, and “M & O’s” will turn to M & M’s. But for now, I just love watching my little guy move to the beat of his own drum and do things his way. The JP way.

In this moment, I focus on listening more than correcting and guiding more than redirecting. That works for us, and I feel so blessed to be a part of his journey.
