I recently released my first artist book, Better Must Come | Caithfidh Feabhas Theacht.

Better Must Come brings together a selection of my multichannel film installations, archival research and writings, alongside conversations and critical essays with artists, writers and researchers, Kodwo Eshun, Davinia Gregory-Kameka & Ruairí McCann. Spanning works made over a decade, the publication explores histories of migration, land, labour, displacement and colonialism, moving between Ireland, Jamaica & more.

Bringing together moving image works, archival material and critical and personal perspectives, the book reflects on my research-led practice and my interest in how histories are recorded, remembered and carried into the present. The accompanying texts & conversations extend the films, opening up questions around place, identity, memory and the political and power structures that shape them.

I would like to thank the wonderful writers & thinkers who gave their time, energy & voices to the texts in this publication & to the galleries where these conversations originally took place. Kodwo Eshun & @theshowroom; my sistren Davinia Gregory-Kameka @drdav & @blacktowersprojects & Ruairí McCann @langsmonkey @dhg_dublin @photoireland Thank you for taking the time & bringing your wealth of knowledge & care that allowed these conversations to come to fruition.

Mid-afternoon on Sunday saw @sligobaroqueorchestra deliver a unique insight into Johann Gottlieb Janitsch’s “Freitagsakademie”. These weekly meetings in Berlin were a melting pot of music performed at Janitsch’s home, attended by both professional and amateur musicians.

Their programme included music by Janitsch himself, Graun, C.P.E.Bach and Quantz in a delightful afternoon of music in the @modelsligo Niland Gallery.

On Sunday afternoon the young musicians of @sligoacademyofmusic gave a beautiful concert alongside their colleagues of @sligobaroqueorchestra, directed by Rod Alston.

The programme included music by Telemann, Handel, and Heinichen and was met with great enthusiasm by their audience at the @modelsligo
