From a magically dissolving dress to a flower-covered stage, @oliviarodrigo's #TheUnraveledTour is inescapable online. But a single one-of-a-kind creation quickly became part of the visual identity of the tour — a custom-made, pink heart-shaped guitar.

Luis Muñoz (@modernguitartech), a Mexican American guitar technician who operates out of a tiny repair shop in East L.A., built it, but its significance goes beyond the instrument itself.

Olivia Rodrigo has become a major proponent of the guitar since her debut album, 2021’s SOUR, brought her alt-pop-rock musings to the mainstream.

Now, as she kicks off The Unraveled Tour in support of her third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, her penchant for unique and highly customized guitars is on full display.

Her arsenal includes a relic’d single-pickup Jazzmaster custom that she uses on the track Maggots for Brains, where she showcases her lead guitar playing.

Another interesting pick comes by way of a heart-shaped guitar crafted by LA guitar repairer and luthier Luis Munoz.

The guitar builder, who counts the Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, and Anthrax among his clients, flexed his skills with this baby pink guitar, which, according to his socials, took a while to build and perfect.

WE ARE SO BACK! 😍🤘🏻

Fresh from the shop. Thanks to my friend and master guitar tech, Luis, my #1 Gibson Explorer is back and better than ever. 🙏🏻

In time for the next @oceansonotherplanets tour and the rehearsals coming up.

Stay tuned for a breakdown of the fix. 🪛🩹

HELP IS ON THE WAY! 🙏🏻

When my lefty Gibson Explorer was badly broken on the Nu Metal Sucks tour with @oceansonotherplanets, my first thought was, “Oh my God!”, my second thought was “F*ckkkk!!!”, and my third thought was “I need Luis.” 😂

Luis has been helping me with my guitars since way back in our crazy Hollywood days. We were neighbors, really. He has always been on top of his game — high standards, high quality, great care, and humble, too. So it has also been amazing to see his business grow and to see him rise to the top tier of the tech biz, touring, etc. At this point, he has worked with some of the biggest artists and led some of the most successful tours in the world. And now he’s also a family man. So happy for you, bro.

When I brought this guitar in, not only was I relieved when he said he could fix it, we had a great catch up & hang. It’s not just guitar therapy, folks… it’s good for humans, too…

More to come when I pick this baby up in a couple weeks. 🙏🏻
