#MeetYLD from Middle East and North Africa and #YLDTrainee - Mohammed Seyam from Palestine ⭐🇵🇸

Mohammed is a 21-year-old medical student from Palestine. He has been living with type one diabetes since 2011 but, his story with diabetes began and took it's turn lately in 2016. When he started studying what diabetes means and it's implications. It’s when his diabetes advocacy journey started. From lack of education, ignorance and bad choices to proper management, learning and even helping people with diabetes with their self-management.
He is a passionate learner and a nature-lover who likes taking pictures, music and of course living the best diabetes life possible.
Diabetes changed his life, a lot. It inspired him, made him more ardent to be a future leader and to be a part of the change we seek. He has been engaged in several diabetes-related projects in his community. He always thinks of diabetes in a positive way and this is something he is striving to help others with. “I’m grateful to live with it, yes Diabetes doesn’t define who I am but it helps me become the person I want to be, diabetes makes me stronger.” Mohammed says.
We can’t change our past but we can accept it and use it as a motivation to change. Yes, we still have a long way to go, but as long as we’re on the right way we can write our own happy story and make our future great.
“The YLD program provides a great opportunity to make friends from all around the world and it can motivate us and be the reason we want to learn more and gain the experience we need. And of course, being part of a world-wide community that is connected through young blooming minds creates a thriving desire for us to take responsibility as young leaders in diabetes to raise awareness about the condition and make a breakthrough in the right way.” Mohammed says.

Inspire people, get inspired and remember, you can diabeat it! And if you haven’t started yet, what better time than now?
Blue hugs
