Last weekend it finally happened! In 36 hours, I climbed 29029 vertical feet, the equivalent of Mt. Everest!! It’s been a long time coming and after 5 years and 5 attempts, this was it. I lost 25 lbs, trained daily, surrounded myself with positive people, and finished the job!

“It doesn’t matter how many times you fall down, what matters is how many times you get back up”

I got back up!!! And so many people stood beside me, so thank you to all of you ♥️

Coach @bpeas9 - the best there is. Your guidance got me here. ♥️
@voiceofcolleen - time after time you stood there cheering me on and pushing me back up!

To explain this experience would take a lot longer than anyone would want to read… and this post is probably already too long.
Most importantly, The Kyle Pease Foundation athletes raised about $130k for 29029 Mont Tremblant. THANK YOU to all that donated!

Y’all, that mountain broke me.

Hiked 8 of 15 ascents 6am-11:30pm on Friday.
As I was leaving to be back on the mountain, Kelley (the one who got me into this mess) walked into our hotel room. She had just finished her 10th lap and was coming in to rest.
I looked at her, started crying and said, “I’m going to say this, get it out of my system, and then let it go. I’m angry. I’m tired. I don’t want to fucking do this anymore... but I have to.”
She hugged me, and at 3am I was back on the mountain for 7 more.
I went into this thinking it was going to be a personal journey—to reflect and leave everything weighing me down back home on that mountain. I wasn’t worried about making friends. I just wanted to finish what I came there to do.

I was wrong.

I cursed, cried, and laughed with people I’d never met. I made a dear friend Mary Pat and we hiked into the sunset and the sunrise. I used my sweat towel to wipe the snot off Leslie’s face and cool her down. I caught Jo who slipped on a rock. Coaches, volunteers, strangers, and every text and video from home carried me farther than they probably realize.

Kelley, Coach Sarah “CT”, Kyle, Alan, Brent, Coach Jarrod, Coach Joe, Coach Jen, Colleen, Peter, Tina, Mary Pat, Athena, Ty, Lacey, Moe, Patrick, Amazing Amy, Ali, Katie, 16yr old Kennedy, Tracy, Leslie, Paige, Tim, the list goes on….these people have forever changed and inspired me.
The day before we climbed, Kyle said something I’ll never forget:
“Embrace the suck.”
Because that’s what he has to do every single day.
Those words will live with me forever.
I came down that mountain a different woman.
The day-to-day frustrations, the drama, the things I used to give so much energy to... they are no longer important.
If you’re carrying something heavy in your life- grief, heartbreak, fear, doubt, whatever it is, go climb a mountain. And if you need someone to climb with, Im in.

Charlie and I decided it was our turn to give back and be volunteers for the 343 climbers for @29029official @monttremblant.

We now understand @marchodulich’s mission to “CARE MORE” 🫶🏼 Charlie and I had two volunteer shifts (11p-7a mid mountain ⛰️) when climbers chose to climb one or several more under the stars with headlamps. It was an opportunity to encourage, to listen, to sit with those digging deep and to be filled with so much gratitude that we have bodies that can carry us up mountains.

The 2nd shift was at the top of Mont Tremblant overlooking the stunning view and the first sight of those finishing one more climb and those with red bibs finishing their 15th and final climb, and the celebration 🎉 as they walked the red carpet to receive their red hat. I cried tears of joy for every climber!!

It’s so much more than climbing a mountain, but who people become when achieving their goal after many months of training. Charlie and I felt that joy at Snowbasin in 2022!

We met the Marshalls (@kamille_marshall, @berkliemarshall, @jm_construct and Bridger)during our training for Snowbasin and they were at the top of every ascent with exactly what we needed. It was a great pleasure to do the same for the dynamic and determined Mother/Daughter team who climbed through the night and finished in 31 hours!! So very proud!!

So many people stories to share but finally meeting in person, @theamandamelby who is doing everything possible to cure her glioblastoma and was able to finish 7 amazing climbs while going through treatment in Germany!

And the “Voice of the Mountain” @voiceofcolleen! There are great story tellers, and then there is Colleen! I had tears throughout the 36 hours hearing about each and every climber from Colleen!! Still have goosebumps!

@moepierce6 and Todd Pierce~ you two are not only a strong power couple completing 5 Red Hat summits, but meeting you both in person~ hearts of gold!

What a special gift to be a part of this amazing community of people!! Loved reuniting with @patrick_keeble (20th Red Hat), @pranalens (the amazing photographer/videographer behind the media), and meeting @i.selltile ~ you left it all on the mountain!
