In 2020, my amazing dad, Dave Keegan, was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 64. After major surgeries, living with (and later reversing) a stoma bag, and months of treatment, we were overjoyed when he was given the all‑clear. For five years he remained cancer‑free.

In 2024, Dad underwent surgery for sciatica, and during this time he was briefly removed from the cancer monitoring list. When he returned to routine checks in 2025, five years after beating cancer, we hoped for another clean bill of health. Instead, after further investigations and referrals to Clatterbridge, we received the heartbreaking news that his cancer had returned. This time it was stage 4, having metastasised to his lungs with a very large tumour in his pelvis. The cancer was classed as non‑treatable.

Dad tried one round of chemotherapy, but it resulted in a hospital stay and left him feeling worse than ever. He made the incredibly brave decision to prioritise quality of life and spend whatever time he has left outside of hospitals. The large pelvic tumour has caused a blockage affecting the blood flow to his right leg, leaving him in pain and struggling with mobility.

Amid all of this devastating news came a ray of light, @willowbrookhospice

Their support has been nothing short of extraordinary for Dad and for our family. As I’m writing this, Dad is staying at Willowbrook for stabilisation, and the difference they’ve made already is unbelievable. The staff and volunteers are absolute angels - kind, patient, and endlessly compassionate.

To say thank you, and inspired by my dad’s lifelong daredevil streak, Harley‑riding, scuba diving, skydiving and all - I’ve decided to take on my own challenge: I’m abseiling down Leasowe Lighthouse!

@leasowelighthouse stands at 33.5 metres (110 feet) and is the tallest and oldest lighthouse in Britain built of brick, dating all the way back to 1763. On 13th June, I’ll be stepping off the top of it (on purpose!) to raise money for the incredible team at Willowbrook.

February 2026 Next walk and Talk 💙❤️

A big thank you to Molly and Georgia for completing the recce today for our next Walk & Talk in February 👏🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

We’ll be exploring a 12.6 km circular trail near Allgreave, a popular and well-loved hiking route. It’s generally classed as moderately challenging, making it a great walk for anyone who enjoys getting outdoors, stretching their legs, and having a good chat along the way.

Everyone sees the happy, outgoing side of me…
 But inside, I’ve been healing from years of hurt and from not knowing who I truly was.
I became a mum for the first time at 21 to the most handsome boy my James.
 Had my Gorgeous Grace at 26.
 Became a single mother at 29.
It’s been hard. So hard.
For years I showed up for everyone else, always giving, always supporting while slowly forgetting about myself.
 2020 broke me.
 Years of pain and exhaustion .All I ever wanted was a happy life to be the best mum, the best partner, the best employee.

What I didn’t realise was that I was pouring into everyone else’s cup while mine was completely empty.

In 2024, I crashed.I burnt out.
 I was depressed I was full of anxiety getting treated unfairly, I cried most nights couldn’t shift it didn’t move for months didn’t want to talk to anyone or see anyone.

But at the same time… I was awakened.
2025 was the year I found my purpose - -Ladies That.

I’ve met so many inspiring women ,women who’ve walked through their own trauma and journeys in different ways. When women come together and share their stories, it’s powerful. It reminds us we are not alone.
I truly believe things don’t break you to destroy you they break you to rebuild you.

You need to be around women who lift you up, who get it, who want to support and listen.

That’s more than a community or a business those women helped heal parts of me I didn’t even know needed healing. And I know so many other women in this world need that too.

Connection. Support. Empowerment. Likeminded women. A safe space to feel safe enough to share there problems and there trauma but to also know your not alone.

I’m ending 2025 with a thankful heart not just for building a company or a community, but for saving me. For helping me realise my purpose.

We all have one. And if you’re feeling stuck, I want to help you.
