A rare special occasion to celebrate @assets4artists 18 years of supporting local artists across Massachusetts and now expanding to other states across New England. My heart is full of joy to be a part of the A4A art community. Thankful for all the work that you do Blair, Briana, Elizabeth, Molly and Olana. It was such an honor to share my story with everyone tonight and I am overwhelmed by all the heartfelt support.
If you’re a working artist in New England, follow @assets4artists to learn about ongoing grant opportunities and visit their website to sign up for free online professional development workshops.
If you need help finding resources, I am always happy to hop on a phone call or just message me through Instagram. Happy to help and continue to amplify the work that A4A does to support and inspire our creative collective. 📣

Happy new year from our team to you! We are very proud to be an organization run by artists for artists. Here’s a little glimpse into what we’ve all been up to this year when we weren’t dreaming up and delivering A4A’s programming…

Olana (Communications & Events Manager) continued her research into analogue technologies for looping and layering in choreography and began directing a new duet that layers several improvisational scores based on the photographic technique (or mishap) of multiple exposure and vocal looping.

Blair (Executive Director) mostly focused his 2025 on helping launch A4A into independence while helping launch his two daughters out of the nest, but artistically he did find homes for two quirky poems this year. One—about the etymology of the word “guillotine”—appeared in the Spring 2025 issue of Rust & Moth, and another—about lion symbolism in ancient and modern times, the La Brea tar pits, virality, and climate grief—will appear in the next issue of the New Orleans-based journal Bayou Magazine.

Veronica’s (Workshop Administrator) sculpture “Cruising Through the Galaxy” was included in the Smithsonian Sites exhibition “Lowrider Culture in the US” at Muzeo, CA.

Molly (Assistant Director) explored America’s enduring love of fraudsters in her @themissourireview essay about a gold miner who dug where the ghosts told him to and the quack patent medicine he got drunk on when no gold appeared.

Dara Cheek (Education Manager) was happy to celebrate the close of 2025 with the sale of her most intricate miniature landscape jewelry piece.

Briana (Program Manager) did some experiments in dyeing, learned some very elementary sewing techniques, and picked up her knitting needles after a long hiatus.

Elizabeth (Program Manager) continued to mine her family archive of images and ephemera that span four generations including this small selection from her grandfather’s experience as a POW during WWII.
