The Painted Lady Series

When planning this concept, it was important to me to incorporate authentic passages from books written during the Victorian era—particularly those that offered a woman’s perspective, something that was far less common at the time.

I came across this passage by Charlotte Brontë, and it immediately felt like the perfect symbol of oppression and restraint. As I shared it the morning of the shoot, Mimi pointed out an antique birdcage sitting quietly in the residence. It was one of those moments where everything aligned without force.

The symbolism, the setting, the words—they all found each other organically. Again… magic🪄
