Special Report: Last night @itsemilymcintire stopped in Sacramento with @knottynovels and intensified the love of her west coast fans!

What an amazing time last night meeting Emily 🩷
Once again, I fan girled too hard and forgot how to use my words other than a quick thank you 🙃😂

Last night was a dream 🧡🥹

I got to meet one of my favorite authors of all time!
@miasheridanauthor thank you so much for stopping in our town on your Unnatural release tour. I might have fan girled a little too hard and showed her shelf of all her books I own 🫢

Thank you @bnroseville for hosting this event!

Meet the Reader 📚🍄🧸🍂

🤎How do I choose my next book?

I am so chaotic with this because I usually have 3-4 books started at any given time. Usually I try to prioritize library books first since those have a timeline. Otherwise it’s heavily dependent on my mood. I feel as if I stumble into the next book and start reading lol

🤎Buy or Borrow?
I honestly prefer to borrow via Libby, my friends, hoopla, the library etc and then get copies of the books I love. I used to buy more but then I’d end up with so many books I wanted to get rid of.

🤎One at a time or multiple?
I usually have one in each format started. One audiobook, one physical, and one on my Kindle. I’ve been known to have more started though. Oops 😬

🤎DNF or keep reading?
I am now firmly and proudly able to DNF. Sometimes you just need to not finish a book you don’t like or pause on a book you might like because you aren’t in the mood!

🤎Physical, audiobook, or e-book?!
I adore all 3 and use them at different times of the day. Audiobooks are great for motivating me in household tasks, my kindle is usually my go to for reading before bed, and I love a pretty or floppy book!

🤎Read the classics or not?
…👁️👄👁️
I’m not entirely opposed but usually no.

🤎Bookmarks or dog ears?
I’ve been gifted and have bought some of the cutest bookmarks so I pretty much always have options for a good bookmark! I used to dog ear all the time growing up or use receipts or random pieces of paper for a bookmark 🙃

Tagging some pals to play along in #meetthereader but if you’re seeing this…you’re it 🪄✨

🪦Beetlejuice Stack🪲

Let’s turn on the juice and see what shakes loose.

I was tagged for funsies in the #BeetlejuiceStackChallenge by the delightful @shay_talksbooks. Honestly, Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I can't get enough spooky. I got to see Beetlejuice on stage last year in July, and it was such a fun show. Go catch it if it's by you 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤

I tagged a few people to play, but anyone is welcome to take the challenge and run with it!

And That’s Why We Drink Challenge (paranormal and true crime!!) 👻

I am a spring and summer girl, so I always hold out on fall vibes as long as I can, but then I’m always bummed when I run out of time for seasonal creepy reads! so to get myself in the mood, I decided to make a challenge themed around @atwwdpodcast!! 👻🔪it’s my favorite podcast and covers all things paranormal and true crime

👻 Ghosts (a book that features ghosts or paranormal activity):
House of Salt and Sorrows by @penchant4words

🛸 Extraterrestrial (a book that features aliens or space travel):

👹 Demons (a book with demons or other dangerous entities):
Come Closer by Sara Gran

😵‍💫 Cult (a book with a cult or cult vibes):
The Library At Mount Char by Scott Hawkins

🪦 Graveyard (a book set in a graveyard or features skeletons):
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

🤪 Strange (one of the weirdest book you’ve ever read!):
The Last House On Needless Street by @catward66

and some bonus books that fit the prompts on my tbr include:
👻 Devil House by John Darnielle
