UCI Masters World Championships | Niseko, Japan 🇯🇵 Another unforgettable chapter in my cycling journey! ❤️ For the second time, I had the incredible opportunity to represent Team USA 🇺🇸 @usacycling in the 45-49 age category at the UCI Masters World Championships @ucigranfondoworldseries, this time in beautiful Niseko, Japan! With an incredibly strong field of women from around the world, I gave it everything I had and came away with 7th in the Time Trial and 22nd in the Road Race! 💪🚴‍♀️ Proud of the effort, the lessons, and the opportunity to compete alongside such talented cyclists. But as always, it’s about so much more than results. It’s about pushing my limits, continuing to grow, making memories, and sharing this journey with amazing people. Feeling grateful, inspired, and already looking ahead to next year’s Worlds in France! 🇫🇷✨ A journey like this is never a solo effort, and I have so much love for the people who make it possible ❤️ Huge thanks to my coach @bjl_coaching for the constant guidance and encouragement; @maxmichaeljacob, for being there every step of the way, from travel logistics and bike prep to recon rides, you were a total game changer! 😎🙌 And to my Team USA beasties @mompowers @womanmindedfitness & @hannahabarge thank you for all the laughs and great memories leading up to the road race! 🫶🏼🇺🇸 To my ride-or-die friends @gosia_goclowska & @bondgirl079 and @deisy_jmendez & @oscar_r0mer0 thank you for checking in, lifting me up from afar, and always knowing what to say when I needed it most. So lucky to have you in my corner! 🥹❤️ To my family in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, I can’t wait for some much-needed time together as my cycling season winds down. I was there just for a test to see what I needed to work on but God had different plans 😅🙏 Then WORLDS! ! Everything I expected and more! Didn’t make the last official cut off by 3 minutes but I finished unofficial 27/31 in the world. And as my second climbing race and I took very seriously this time around!!! I DID AMAZING! #teambetty #disrupttheracecourse #badassisbeautiful #teamusacyclist #morewomenonbikes . When I went to worlds 70.3 the first time. One woman that went with me before we got the slot was told “athletes like you [all] will not go to worlds” 🤐 Worlds 70.3 2023 finisher Worlds UCI gran fondo 2026 finisher (after cut off) Worlds 70.3 2027 start line 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 BELIEVE IN YOURSELF WORK FOR AND ATTEMPT ALL YOUR GOALS NO ONE CHOOSES YOUR PATH! Gran Fondo World Championships, Niseko. I’m definitely not a climber, so I didn’t come here with huge expectations. Still, I wasn’t quite prepared for the race to be gone from me by kilometer 13. From there, it simply turned into a beautiful journey through Hokkaido in great company @mompowers 🇺🇸 and 🇯🇵 . Finally 8th place AG. Hopefully, I managed to find a little bit of form this late in the season — because the idea of the Gravel World Championships still hasn’t left me. Чемпионат мира Gran Fondo, Нисеко. Я, конечно, не горняк и больших ожиданий от этой гонки не строила. Но всё же не была готова к тому, что уже на 13-м километре в первом подъеме гонка окончательно уедет от меня. Дальше это превратилось просто в красивое путешествие по Хоккайдо в отличной компании. Equipping young women with confidence for the new school year! 🎒👟✨ This week, we had the incredible privilege of partnering with @midflorida_creditunion as the presenting sponsor of our Back-to-School event. Thanks to their generosity, each participant received brand-new backpacks and sneakers, and got to shop the boutique with $100 credit—and the amazing MidFlorida Cares team volunteered their time so every guest had a personal shopping partner! Each young woman left with new knowledge on healthy skincare, freshly trimmed hair, a care bag packed with beauty, hair, and feminine hygiene products, and oral care goodies generously donated by Winter Haven Family & Cosmetic Dentistry @drgeraldcerdan! We also kept everyone refreshed throughout the day thanks to incredible food and treat donations from our local favorites: @honeycombbread @gourmetgoodieswinterhaven @elolivomexican, Bistro Pizza, @hteao, and @webakememories. Feeling so grateful that our amazing neighbor blessed us with tickets for a family day of fun! ❤️ Meanwhile… 👩‍👧‍👧 Mom: ✔️ Packing snacks ✔️ Filling water bottles ✔️ Sunscreening everyone ✔️ Finding lost shoes ✔️ Making bathroom trips happen ✔️ Carrying all the things 👨 Dad: ⛽ “I’m going to put gas in the car.” 😂😂😂 But honestly, seeing the kids excited makes all the chaos worth it! Theme park tips for families with little ones: 🎒 Pack extra clothes (especially for water rides!) 💧 Bring refillable water bottles and stay hydrated. 🧴 Reapply sunscreen every couple of hours. 🍎 Pack snacks to avoid hangry meltdowns. 📱 Take a picture of your child before entering the park so you have their outfit documented. 🎢 Check height requirements ahead of time to avoid disappointment. 😴 Build in breaks and quiet time if your little one gets overstimulated. ❤️ Focus on making memories, not doing every ride. Florida brings home the National Championship! 🏆 Congratulations to the incredible Lakeland Christian School Mock Trial team (@lcsvikings), who defeated Georgia in the final round to win the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Des Moines, Iowa. Special congratulations to senior Zack Branham for earning a Best Attorney award — an extraordinary individual accomplishment in an already historic weekend for the team. And huge thanks and congratulations to Coach Chasity Branham (@chasityandken ) and the fantastic volunteers in the legal community like Judge Melissa Gravitt (@gravittmom3 ). Recently, we held a session that resulted in big smiles and a major shift in confidence! The young women were originally very hesitant to experiment with professional and formal attire, but they left the store feeling job-ready with clothing that expressed their personalities while remaining appropriate for their upcoming ventures. Another resounding success for our Building up Girls events! 🥳🎉 Throughout the event, the girls were so engaged; taking notes, asking questions. They walked away with a wealth of information and were glad that they came! The theme of this Spring event was job readiness, teaching young women how to build a resume, dress for the job, and nail an interview! We had incredible guest speakers, a fun game, and a delicious meal to wrap up the day. At the end, we were able to gift each girl a new Coach bag to start them off on their professional journey!
