In the past year and a half of building Shala Social Club, smaller group gatherings between formal events are where deep connections have been cultivated.

As a mixed Asian, I’m glad to have found other mixed Asian gals that match my vibe through smaller gatherings like girl dinners or a GNO @slowjamz.co 🪩⭐️🌀

Paseo Friends 🥾🤎

This Sunday, some of our Shala friends joined us for Paseo sa Griffith Park.

In Bisaya, paseo means to stroll, to move without rushing or needing to arrive. It comes from the Spanish word pasar “to spend time.” Fun fact: many Filipino languages have about 20–40% words due to our layered history.

With everything happening in the world right now, a few hours offline, sunshine and good company was just what we needed to nourish our mind & body.

If Sunday felt like a reset and you want more spaces like this — slower & intentional, join the Shala 411 channel to access the WhatsApp group link.

Community doesn’t end at the trailhead. 🤍
