Five years!!!

What one could do with so much time?!
Learn a new language or some other useful skill, like playing a new instrument or two. Raise two kids a good chunk of the way. Or throw parties, travel the world and live an absolutely awesome life with lots of great people around...

But instead I (or rather we) did this: DANCE WITH THE GHOSTS III

Well… not actually instead. But more also.

Anyway: the album is out now: today, tonight, and waiting for your ears to whisper to.

So many thanks to all the fantastic people involved!!! I hope you enjoy it.

There’s also a really sweet review out there by @daniel_mege and @allaboutjazzmedia HUGE THANKS!!

Thursday, 22.10. 2026 * DOUBLE CONCERT *

TAIGA: Sara Zlanabitnig & Jaka Berger (flute, electronics / snare, synthesizer) AT / SI

DUO: Pierre Bastien & Gonçalo Almeida (trumpet, objects / double bass, objects) FR/PT

Austria premiere
The first time I listened to Pierre Bastien and Gonçalo Almeida, I suddenly realized how much I had missed music with so much imagination and surprise. It felt like an awakening, and I’ve truly never heard anything like it. They have this rare synergy, a dialogue that is both intimate and explosive.
ierre Bastien is a pioneer in the experimental music scene. He is known for his self-built „Mecanium“ instruments, complex musical machines that act as a homemade orchestra. He even released albums on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label. Gonçalo Almeida is an incredible bassist and composer whose work is praised for being „smart and meticulously organized“ and he is always exploring new sounds in modern jazz and free improvisation. This duo is so inspiring, and we are happy that they accepted our invitation to share their extraordinary music with us.

🌬️ MALAIKA

Jazzit:Residency 2026 – Lorenz Widauer

ιηтσ ∂υѕт is out today 🌬
… it has been such a pleasure working on this song over the last 2 years. on this one everything fell into place. after having recorded strings, horns & @friedemerz 's vocals, I knew for the first time what our album was going to sound like.
my dear friend @beate_wiesinger completely rocked the bassline, @anja.f.plaschg added a layer of immensely beautiful vocals and @alex___krana a magical interlude on alto horn.
+ more dreamy horn sounds by @monamriahi & @ahmostgimmr
+ exquisite strings by florian sighartner, @noxom__ , @mlestew , @lukaslauermann & carles muñoz camarero
+ the best artwork by @studio___low
+ @mnphb.mp3 (mix) & @mischa.janisch (master) took care of every detail very lovingly.
we all did. 🤍
