ONE LAST RACKET!
Join us this Saturday, October 17, for the Performance Festival + Exhibition Closing of A Racket of Banshees: Goddesses and Monsters Re-Imagined at Los Angeles Valley College Art Gallery!

The Association of Hysteric Curators brings together feminist artists working across performance, painting, sculpture, video, and installation to challenge traditional representations of goddesses, monsters, and the unruly feminine.
Our closing festival celebrates the power of performance as a form of resistance, transformation, and collective expression. Through ritual, storytelling, humor, movement, and the body, participating artists explore new ways to make feminist voices visible and heard.

The photographs featured here capture moments from our previous performances, offering a glimpse into the range of voices, perspectives, and practices that make this collective so dynamic.

This is your last chance to experience our traveling works-on-paper exhibition at LAVC and join us for an afternoon of live performance. We hope to see you there!

I’m thrilled to be part of the Los Angeles iteration of A Racket of Banshees: Goddesses and Monsters Re-Imagined with the Association of Hysteric Curators @associationofhystericcurators at @lavcgallery.

Me & Monet Clark's collaborative photograph a still from her Narwhal Woman Work is part of a feminist traveling works-on-paper exhibition!!

I absolutely loved creating this still with @monetclark & it was all shot in my too small, but very Hollywood studio space ❤️

At LAVC, the works on paper are joined by objects and documentation from AHC performance projects and a video installation of Scarlett Kim’s BEASTS.

Pre-show picture. The only one, no photos after this! Come down tonight to La Pocha Nostra’s Salon des Refusés: A Participatory Figure Drawing Ritual in SF! Guided by Guillermo Gómez Peña! Drawing materials will be provided or bring your own and draw a cathedral full of performance artists! Including my shapeshifting striptease-Femme Fauna animal-women-series, a critique on commodification of the feminine in all its guises…

Tonight Wed. May 20th 6:30-9:30 pm PST
Saint Josephs Arts Foundation
1401 Howard St, San Francisco, CA
$10 for patrons. General ticket $20/person
Link in Insta bio or FB comments to RSVP

Saint Joseph Art Foundation is an amazing redone church with a bar, balconies and an open second floor looking down, ladders to turrets with floor-to-ceiling windows, rooms open to the main floor for simultaneous performances, a main stage, and dramatic decor.

From La Pocha Nostra:
Audience members are invited to draw, sketch, or simply observe as the room evolves from careful observation to expressive experimentation. La Pocha Nostra invites you to an evening where the traditional life drawing class becomes a live performance laboratory.

For centuries, artists have gathered around the human body to study proportion, discipline, and form. Salon des Refusés revisits this tradition and turns it inside out. This will be an unforgettable night!
