Winning a second-home client is one skill. Being the first call they make years later is another entirely.

According to NAR, 91% of buyers say they would use or recommend their agent again. Yet only 18% of repeat buyers actually return to the same agent. The gap isn’t about satisfaction, it’s about what happens in the years between transactions.

In resort and second-home markets, that gap is wider than anywhere else. The typical second home is held for nearly a decade. The client lives somewhere else. Life moves on. And if the relationship wasn’t built to last beyond the closing, it quietly disappears.

The agents who consistently generate repeat and referral business in resort markets aren’t just skilled at finding the right property. They’ve built something more durable: a relationship that stays relevant long after the keys change hands.

Three slides on what that actually looks like in practice.

For agents who value long-term relationships.

There’s a particular kind of light that only shows up once the season turns, softer, later to arrive, and gone sooner. It changes how a home feels rather than how it looks, the kitchen that catches it at breakfast, the coastline that holds onto it a little longer at dusk, the porch where it lingers just past what summer allowed.

This week’s collection follows that light across five very different markets, mountain, coastal, and island, each one shaped by the season it’s entering rather than the one it’s leaving behind.

SoCal Luxury Summit — Dana Point Waldorf Astoria did not disappoint
Some of the best strategy doesn’t happen in a session room. It happens over coffee before the first speaker, at the fountain for a cocktail after a day of meetings, on the sand as the sun goes down or at a dinner with colleagues & friends…..
This week I sat with agents from Silicon Valley to Santa Monica to San Diego to Naples FL, Boise ID & the list goes on — comparing notes on what’s actually moving luxury buyers right now, and reconnecting with the referral partners who send me some of my favorite clients.
The setting is easy to photograph. The relationships are the real takeaway.
Grateful for this network, and for every conversation that turned into a plan for a client back home in AZ, past, present or future.
If you’re working with a client relocating to Phoenix, Scottsdale & the greater Maricopa County area, I’d love to connect.

A tiny peek inside this past week’s Compass SoCal Luxury Summit. Love seeing old Compass colleagues from around the country — and meeting lovely new agents, too. See you in New Orleans very soon, friends.

Now, back to work preparing for the buzzy fall market… prepping properties to hit the market and continuing to hit the ground running with showings for wise buyers moving strategically in this market. How can I help you?

Coast to Coast, together in SoCal. 🌴✨

A few familiar C2C faces came together this week at the Compass SoCal Luxury Summit at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. Three days filled with connection, collaboration, shared ideas, and plenty of conversations that started long before we arrived in Dana Point.

This is what Coast to Coast is all about.

Relationships built across markets. Connections that extend beyond a monthly call. And a network of people who genuinely show up for one another, wherever we happen to meet.

So good seeing our C2C community together in California. 🤍

A few days well spent at the Southern California Luxury Summit - connecting with 300+ Compass agents from across the country, sharing ideas, and touring some incredible South Orange County properties.

Because the stronger our network, the more doors we can open for our clients - both here in Wine Country and beyond.

Perched high in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Los Gatos, this is the kind of home that instantly makes you slow down and take it all in. ✨

On the market for the very first time, this beautiful property offers sweeping mountain views, lush gardens, and a warmth that can be felt the moment you arrive. Every corner invites you to pause, breathe, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

One of our favorite moments while filming was chasing a butterfly through the garden to capture the quiet sense of tranquility that makes this property so special. 🦋

Inside, walls of windows flood the home with natural light while perfectly framing the panoramic views. The rich hardwood ceilings and floors add timeless character and warmth throughout.

It was truly a joy to capture this remarkable home. Some places are simply beautiful, others make you feel at home. This one does both. 💛
