Spend the day out in London with me and the very talented friend and by the way the best portrait photographer in London… @monivandrevitz

We wandered through the Southbank Centre during its 75th anniversary celebrations, crossed paths with Banksy’s new sculpture at Waterloo Place, drank too much coffee, talked about art, life, and all the strange little directions creativity pulls us in. @banksy

Somewhere in between, we also stepped into the Lucian Freud exhibition, and I don’t think anyone paints human presence quite like that. Every portrait felt uncomfortably alive, like the canvas was observing you back. @lucianfreudart

But the Hayward Gallery exhibitions stayed with me the most.

Chiharu Shiota: Threads of Life completely wrapped itself around my brain. Thousands of threads suspended like memories, connections, thoughts, grief, time. It felt less like walking through an exhibition and more like stepping inside somebody’s inner world. As someone who works with thread, crochet, weaving and tiny repetitive gestures every day, it hit somewhere unexpectedly personal. @chiharushiota

And then Heart to Heart by Yin Xiuzhen… soft, human, intimate. Work that quietly reminds you objects can carry emotion, history, movement, entire lives inside them.

Days like this always leave me wanting to be more.

London really said: here’s inspiration, now go home and do something with it.

Today was all about friendship… and outrageously expensive jewellery 💎✨
Had the most fantastic day at @VAMuseum with the fabulous @monivandrevitz — we even managed to find a few pieces that would suit us perfectly. In this life or the next… Mr. Cartier, we’re coming for you! 😂😂

We saw the Cartier exhibition and it was simply breathtaking. The craftsmanship, the detail, the sheer beauty of the pieces — absolutely extraordinary. No photo could ever do justice to what we saw.

Until then, an Aperol Spritz will do just fine 🍹
What a brilliant day — I forgot how much I’ve missed London 💛

As an aviator, pilot, and explorer, I’ve been fortunate to turn my dreams into a reality—flying across continents in an open-cockpit biplane and following in the slipstream of the great female pioneers before me. ✈️🌍

But what matters just as much as the journey itself is using it to lift others up—especially young people. I believe deeply in the importance of sharing my story with students at schools and universities. Every time I speak to a group of young people—particularly young women—I’m reminded how powerful representation is.

Aviation and business have long been male-dominated spaces, but that’s changing. And it has to change. I want the next generation to know that nothing is out of reach. The skies are open to everyone—regardless of background or gender.

If my story inspires even one young person to take that leap, pursue their dreams, or step into a cockpit, then it’s all worth it. 💫

Huge thank you to my wonderful friend Monika Drzewicz @monivandrevitz for this beautiful portrait. You have such a gift for capturing not just a face—but a whole story. See you next week 😀📸❤️

This piece was recently featured at @smallorangejournal alongside this beautiful poem, by Anna Akhmatovay:

When at night I wait -, for her
My life - resting on a thread -.
& what freedom -, or staying young,
Or bestowed greatness,
Before my gentle guest, with a pipe in her hand.
She is in the room -. Overthrowing her veil
& fixing her stare at me. I ask her: "Was it you
Who dictated Dante the pages from Hell?"
She whispers: "Yes."
