One of the most beautiful readings of the Poetry Nights. So grateful for this shared moment of poetry with my dear @beansdina
Reading “ضياع النظرة في يومٍ غائم” by the Saudi poet @ghassan_khunaizi . Two languages, one poem, lots of feelings.

Special thank and appreciation to Arab Nights team:

Juan Rulfo was little known when he published El Llano en llamas [The Burning Plain] in 1953. He was a voracious reader and a sharp observer of the Mexican condition. These qualities would serve him well as he began writing short stories set mostly in and around the Llano Grande —the burning plain (or llano) of the title— located in his home state of Jalisco, Mexico, a region acutely affected by hardship and by the violence of the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920) and the Cristero Revolt (1926-1929). The ideals of the Revolution provided a useful —and often romanticized— narrative in the decades that followed as many Mexican intellectuals, politicians, and artists worked to forge a common identity that might unite a divided nation. Join us for an evening of dancetheater with original compositions. #houstonartists #letcreativityhappen #crossdisciplinary #houstoartsalliance #narrativascorporales

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to design and fabricate this reflective monolith for “Collective Unconscious”, an immersive exhibition inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. A collaborative project organized by @forgnstudio bringing together artists, designers and technologists to explore perception through light, shadow and interaction. Super duper fun. Let’s make more and more. #neato #houstonartist #platoscave #lightingdesign #projectionmapping

This percussive/ melodic instrument was great addition to the Chamber’s County Children’s Museum. Tuned to the key of D7, this piece was a joy to build and a blast to play!

Chambers County Children’s Museum needed a Tree made of boxes so we built them one! “Boxtopia” is a cardboard crafting area equipped with tools, supplies and a joinery diagram displayed above for reference. Our Laser and CNC robots helped make this project run smooth and efficient, however our humans did the heavy lifting. @dbonilla_2 @mono.mango @dahveedesteban #cnchouston #houstonartist #northsidehouston #exhibitdesign #museumfabrication
