POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Had the absolute TRIP OF A LIFETIME out west. First I linked up with my work wives @beshaff and @moombeans, as well as @mountainsinmymind . With their support, I was able to lead some terrain in GTNP I have climbed a million times but never led, it was SOOO rad (had to do it in the full snakeskin outfit so people could tell I was a SERIOUS alpinist).

Then I headed off to Squamish. In a FULL CIRCLE MOMENT, I got to see one of the most important mentors of my life (and the person who originally taught me to trad climb, IN SQUAMISH!!, nearly 10 years ago now) @janelle.smiley . We hadn’t seen each other in 8 years but I always hear her voice in my head when I’m climbing and guiding. Thankfully, Janelle still is still hardcore af (even tho she pretends she’s chill now) and still won’t take any excuses from me. She pushed and encouraged to lead my first few 10s on gear (SUCCESS 💪💪💪), a milestone achievement I thought was still a year or two out of reach. Thank you Janelle 😭 it was so special to experience another major climbing moment with you holding my rope, just like old times.

I met and reconnected with so many amazing people and feel like I unlocked a new level of competency and self-recognition that was very inspiring and rewarding. Special shoutout to @ali.mackellar and August for hosting me in Squamish even tho we had never met in person (how do we not have a picture together???). They have really intentionally created an amazing queer community heaven and it was a privilege to spend time with them in their amazing home.

I never knew the places climbing would take me but I sure am grateful for it. Theres so much more shit i want to write but im not nearly articulate enough and i know most of you are bored by now anyway. Im exhausted and elated. SORRY FOR THE SAPPY AND REFLECTIVE POST BUT ALSO IM NOT.

🍌🍌TATTOOS ON THE GT LEDGE🍌🍌

Finally getting around to posting these! What an absolutely delightful day of shenanigans!! (Bananagans)!! What with @guroosue and her friends singing B-A-N-A-N-A-S down to us while we climbed, @zganee capturing some rad pics and hanging with us!! and various others hooting and hollering at us from all over the cliff, the vibes were high. Even got a visit from a peregrine falcon so you know we were blessed that day 🦅

Not sure if I’ll be able to claim have any other firsts at the gunks but… first time tattooing on the GT ledge? Maybe??? 🤣

No better way to spend my last day and also celebrate spooky season 🎃 Thank you to my work wives @beshaff and @moombeans for letting me ruin your skin permanently, and @kelsinthemountains the literal greatest photographer and tattoo assistant of all time. I’ll miss you gunks.

See y’all next year 😉
