The greatest gift, joy and honor of my life is having so many beautiful hearts + souls to call friends and family. Especially as we get older, busier, grow into different selves than the ones we may have met each other as. We’re often warned about the fact that people fall away as life goes on, and true as that may be, and as healthy as that is, there’s reason to believe some folx will stick around for good. The love and depth of relationship I get to experience with my people is why romance is never something I wait or look for; why I can know how sincere and deserving I am — look at all these mirrors. Thank you to everyone who chose to spend yet another birthday celebration with me this year ✨ and everyone who sent their well wishes but couldn’t be there in person. We had fun, but thank god we celebrate life together any and every time we meet up.

Spring/Summer ’26 dump ✨🌞🌿 Defended in 2025 and walked the stage in May 2026 with my grad school bestie, Dr. Melody Gamba @m.e.g5678 🎓✨ I am well into my Dr. Ebony era. 👩🏾‍🎓 A few years ago, I became a charter member of a nonprofit organization for Black Dance/Movement Therapists, @black_magic_association 🖤💃🏾 We recently received a grant to produce a documentary and archive of our history in collaboration with @thediahannproject and @thelifeofstefaniediahann 🎥📚 Our first filming took place at my retreat home, and what a joy it was to hold space for full, Black-bodied joy. 🌿✨ We’re still collecting donations for the film here:@embodiedlegaciesbdmt Presented my research on Black Somatic Liberatory Practices at the Association of Black Psychologists @nationalabpsi conference with one of my favorite humans, Dr. Angela @angelamgrayson 🧠🖤📖 Met some of my inspirational elders in Black Psychology. I walked up to @dr.edwinjnichols like, “Hi Dr. Nichols, I’m Dr. Nichols.” Dreams do come true! ✨🙌🏾🖤 Went back to our old stomping grounds, SOB’s, with the crew @afromosaicsoul 🎶💃🏾 A true praxis of club culture, movement, and history wrapped in a workshop. 🪩📚 Celebrated the 23rd anniversary of my first business, @locksofnunaturalhairspa 🎉💇🏾‍♀️🖤 Blessed to do this healing work in so many ways, grounded in community and collective responsibility. 🙏🏾🌱🤲🏾 Still dancing through this life journey in all the ways. 🖤💫💃🏾 #DrEbonyEra #BlackSomaticLiberation #BlackSomaticPractices #BlackDanceMovementTherapy #DanceMovementTherapy #BlackPsychology #BlackPsychologists #HealingJustice #SomaticHealing #EmbodiedLiberation #BlackJoy #BlackBodiedJoy

💖 HOOD HOUSE, a house music tribute to the Black radical tradition by @hoodschoolnyc @houseisliberation, raised $3,022 on 8/9! here are our receipts :) ❤️‍🔥 with this communal dance & house event we’re really tryna.. burn the current system to ashes & replace it with a new liberated world! we intend: to foster deep and purposeful bonds with eachother; to connect and study intergenerationally; to free our selves; to practice organization; to build a liberated world right now as there is no need or time to wait; and to sustain ourselves and survive in the meantime 💸. let’s stay connected ☺️ $604.40 went to Kamau Sadiki, the last new york Black Panther still in prison for their political activities, the last of three Panthers held captive nationwide. they sacrificed for us, now we wanna pay it back, and always be caring for our movement. the money is used to care for Kamau while in prison, and to pay for housing, healthcare, and food once he gets out. $604.40 went to GOVA (Group Village Organizations for Autonomous Development) in the Congo. without capitalist extraction of the Congo’s minerals, we would not have these phones. the world imperialist powers — amerika, china, russia, etc — are exploiting the Congolese people to death. the Congo has also been a deeply important site for Pan African and internationalist struggle. GOVA is a network of hundreds of autonomous villages in rural areas co-founded by Samuel Yagase. their current projects include ebola education and prevention; books for two community libraries; community radios; and Congo River environmental efforts. they also engage young people to talk about imperialism, mining and extraction, and people power. $604.40 went to Fight 2 Live, which organizes financial and community support to our queer & trans siblings behind bars. $604.40 went to the Jericho Movement, the political prisoner freedom organization founded in 1998 by Safiya Bukhari, Jalil Muntaqim, and Herman Ferguson. lastly, $604.40 went to the Anarchist Group in Sudan. see slides for info~ deep gratitude to all who participated, especially our DJs @moonbabe @ianfriday @kilopatrahjones ♥️ and 📸 @aagarnafilms 🌸

hood house: on 8/9, we raised $3K for our elder, Black Panther political prisoner Kamau Sadiki; anarchist resistance in Sudan; the community led GOVA project in The Congo; and our queer + trans family behind bars with F2L @fund_the_inside (receipts soon!). just sharing some more clips of @moonbabe3000 ’s dance floor; our backyard that had the radical elders oral histories & archiving; and @saint.404’s beautiful table!! we were blessed to have our young people and our elders, and our millenials in-between, all together, dancing, DJing, building the altar, reading… it was a very special harlem/uptown x hoodschool x houseisliberation collab :) 🎵 @moonbabe3000 @kilopatrahjones @ianfriday 🏡 @rokmilfitness ♥️ 🎥 @sagetheracer

What a weekend in Fort Greene! 🙏🏾❤️ I want to personally thank EVERYBODY who contributed to making Fort Greene/Farragut Old Timers Day on Saturday and DJs Against Hunger on Sunday at Commodore Barry Park such a special weekend. Big love and respect to: Rusty Taylor REDness — thank you for bringing the energy and holding it down! Saint James Joy Spirits In Motion — Nadeeah Eshe & Montana Monti Kervyn Mark Moon Babe DJ T-Groove DJ Royboy DJ L-Boogie DJ Mad Marv DJ Debonair and everyone who shared the decks, the stage and the music with me throughout the weekend. Special thanks to our party motivators and dancers, including Aishah, Lisette Melendez and Genesis Forney, who came out and helped us bring that energy to the park from the beginning of the day. And most importantly, THANK YOU to the Fort Greene/Farragut community, everybody who donated non-perishable goods, everybody who bought a shirt, supported the vendors, danced, celebrated, brought their families out, showed love to the DJs and helped us continue this tradition. Two days. Two events. One community. ❤️ After all these years, seeing different generations together in Commodore Barry Park — dancing, laughing, reconnecting and celebrating our neighborhood — is what this weekend is really about. Thank you to EVERYONE behind the scenes who helped set up, promote, organize, carry equipment, spread the word and make things happen. It takes a lot of people to pull a weekend like this together, and your work did not go unnoticed. Fort Greene. Farragut. Brooklyn. We did it again. Much love, DJ Disciple ❤️🎧 #FortGreene #Farragut #OldTimersDay #DJsAgainstHunger #CommodoreBarryPark :::
