Ive been trying to find the words to express the wisdom and beauty i received in taos with @tulixindigenousarts

It was a remembrance of tending to the body in such gentle and sacred ways. From the Maya Yucatec lineage of don elijio panti and in connecting to my own, we learned. A remembrance of the wise living wisdom of the womb. Her intelligence and her guidance that is always speaking.

It was a receiving of the living prayers of the land, the animals and the plants, in the body. It was tending to our grief through ritual and offerings.

There is so much healing and restoration that takes place when we go gently with our bodies. When we listen rather than force. When we move with the rhythm the body is asking for. Then she can unwind and unravel what has been held.

Im feeling deeply inspired and enlivened by this work. I feel endless life force spiralling through me when i offering my hands in care to the belly, the womb & the body.

Thank you thank you thank you to @samaroceanwolfciprian For your devotion, integrity and deep love to this work 💗 And thank you to all those who have carried it forward so it can land in the hands and hearts of those who need it - and to all the beautiful humans during this time together sharing and weaving their wisdom and unique stories and experiences.

Tul’ix Practitioner Feature: Jill Rodriguez, Chicago

“Hi all, I’m Jill Rodriguez. I am a massage therapist and lymphatic therapist in Chicago, Illinois.

I first came to Tul’ix Indigenous Arts to learn abdominal massage. I did not expect it to change my life.

Over the last three years, the teachings have quietly changed the way I move through the world. They have deepened my relationship with prayer, with plants with the body and with my own ancestral questions and responsibilities.

While I do offer Maya abdominal massage in my practice, Tul’ix is present in all of my work. She influences how I hold space, how I approach healing, and how I understand my role as a practitioner, trusting in the wisdom already present within the body.

I am a woman of Puerto Rican ancestry but had no connection to my lineage until Tul’ix. With encouragement from my teachers and community, I’m reflecting and connecting for the first time in my life to my lineage, my Benevolent Ancestors and the ways traditional healing knowledge survives through generations.

25 women joined Nova in March.

That’s almost as many as we welcomed in our entire first year combined.

As the founder, I’m not going to pretend I’m not emotional about that. Building something from a real belief that women in the right room with the right people can change the entire trajectory of their life and work and then watching it grow like this? It mind blowing 🤯

These aren’t women who are just climbing. They’re women who are questioning the ladder entirely. Founders, leaders, and culture shapers who have decided that success has to include their whole life — not just their résumé. Women who want to build influence without losing themselves in the process.

That’s who this room is for and that’s who just walked in.

To our newest members: we are so glad you’re here. You’re going to feel the difference between being in a room that applauds what you do and being in one that actually sees who you are.

Your people are here.

Last night at our NW Chicagoland chapter launch was 🔥…it was a really clear reminder of what happens when you create the right kind of room.

Most of the women who came didn’t know each other, and many of them weren’t entirely sure what to expect. And still, within minutes, something shifted. The conversations were deep, the women had full permission to be courageous, and there was a level of openness that you don’t often see when a group is meeting for the first time….but this is what we do at The Nova!! ✨

What stood out most to me was how engaged and supportive everyone was with each other. I found myself having to bring people back from breakout conversations more than once because they didn’t want to stop, which says a lot about the quality of connection that was happening.

At one point, someone shared that she was leaving “buzzing,” and that captured the energy of the night perfectly. It felt expansive, grounded, and real in a way that goes beyond typical transactional surface-level networking spaces.

It reinforced something I believe deeply, which is that when women are given the space to show up fully, without pressure to perform or prove anything, the way they connect and support each other shifts entirely.

We’re building something meaningful in NW Chicagoland, and last night felt like the beginning of that. Thank you Emma, Lauren, Gina and Alysha for your leadership ❤️

Four pregnancies.
Three home birth attempts.
One healing, powerful birth at home.

This is Evaluna’s birth story. 🌸
My first full-term birth free from preeclampsia. My first time birthing in peace, in power, in my own home.

On National Preeclampsia Day, I reflect on a long journey. My first baby was born at 32 weeks with severe preeclampsia. Then at 36 weeks. Then at 38. Each time, I carried fear, not just in my body—but in my mind. PTSD would creep in with every blood pressure check, every symptom, every “what if.”

But this time—this fourth pregnancy—I was held by a village.

My midwives @gentlebirthcare guided me gently and reminded me to trust my body. Our doula- @ourhealingroots_cote who held space for me emotionally and physically, reminding me that I was safe, supported, and never alone.
My acupuncturist @awf_clinic offered her steady wisdom.
My massage therapist @moonseedmassage helped release tension I didn’t even realize I was holding.
My chiropractors—especially my team at Bright Futures @discoverbrightfutures —supported every physical shift with care.
My family carried the everyday weight so I could rest.
And my office team fiercely protected my space and time when I needed it most.

Special shout out to photographer and videographer— @ashleynicolephotographyllc thank you for capturing this once-in-a-lifetime moment with such truth. This was more than a birth—it was a reclamation.

To the mothers still in it: whose births didn’t go as planned, who felt out of control, unheard, or afraid—I see you. I’ve been you. I know what it’s like to smile through NICU updates, to hear “at least you’re both okay,” while quietly mourning the birth you hoped for.

This wasn’t just a healthy outcome—it was healing. A reminder that I am not broken. That I am allowed to hope. Allowed to receive care that honors me.

I carry my own story now—not shaped by fear, but reclaimed in strength and trust. And I carry yours with mine.

We will then begin yoga with @christine_ogrady that will incorporate breath work, and a calming sequence of Yin and Restorative poses.
