How’s your week been??

Its been a bit hectic here, the team doing our Kitchen remodelling turned out not to be the most trustworthy so now we have to find someone else and fast….

We’re also getting our garden ready for Winter and my nephew has planted our daffodils and crocuses for spring.

Reading: A proof copy of The Atlas Paradox, I’m 252 Pages in and loving it so far

Watching: Season five of Cobra Kai, I have an unreasonable obsession with Johnny Larewnce and Greys Anatomy, series 17 it is giving my lockdown flashbacks

Shopping: for early Christmas gifts and too many Christmas ornaments (why are they in stores so early?? Its really bad for my bank balance)

Looking forward to: I’ve started work planning my very own reading nook.

Praying for: main stream recognition of more than two genders and for an end to ablism.

'The Masked City' is the second book of 'the Invisible Library' series, written by Genevieve Cogman. After reading the first book I had some reservations about this series, so it took me some time to start on this book. But I did and here is my review 😌.

So this book is more Kai focused. Kai is Irene's assistant and in the last book there were some revelations about his and his family's nature. I love that this book continues on that revelation instead of brushing it off. It takes time to explain everything instead assuming we as the reader already know it. That was my biggest issue with the first book, the lack of information given and the assumption that we just know everything. This book doesn't have this problem and therefore I got more invested in the story 😊.

I like the humor in this book. Especially Irene's character became more funny. Also the library rules suck. I felt sorry for Irene knowing she is on her own because of those. Also the new characters are a fun addition to the story.

I wasn't sure I could love this series after reading the first book, and even thinking of dropping this series. I'm glad that I didn't give up on it because now after reading this book, I think I start to love this

Happy Sunday 🌞

I hope you all had a great weekend. I'm enjoying an early holiday of sorts. I don't have to do things for school anymore so I have even more time to read.

Currently I'm reading Hotel Magnifique. It's a new novel so my question is: have you read this one yet? And if so what are your thoughts on it? I love to hear your opinion ☺️
