Introducing our new reusable coffee bags from @moree.pack .

We've replaced our old cans with durable, airtight, waterproof, food-safe bags designed to be used again and again. In fact, each bag can be reused over 100 times.

Every Moree bag is tracked, allowing us to measure how many times it's been used, where it is, and the amount of packaging waste and CO₂ emissions we've saved along the way.

The coffee is delivered in 5 kg multiples by electric van on our local wholesale delivery route. Customers return their empty bags to Dark Woods, where we clean, scan and reuse them.

Small changes. Big impact.

Single-use packaging remains one of the biggest sustainability challenges facing the coffee industry.

An estimated 300 to 500 billion single-use coffee cups are produced globally each year, alongside the millions of roaster bags, takeaway food containers and other packaging used across the coffee supply chain.

So in this episode, we explore some of the latest reusable packaging solutions emerging across the industry, and what it takes to make reuse work in practice.

How do you create a reusable takeaway system that scales across multiple sites? How do you get consumers to participate when convenience and habit rule? And how do you make reuse work commercially and operationally behind the scenes?

We speak with David McLagan, Founder, @ecoffeecup.official, Ramon Schalch, CEO, @vicafe.ch, and Dejan Mitrovic and Clare Brass, Founders, @moree.pack.

We’re always looking for better ways to do things and the right kit makes a difference.

We’ve switched to MOREE reusable coffee bags for the coffee we carry on our trucks and for our wholesale customers.

MOREE bags are rugged, reusable and properly up to the job, keeping our coffee fresh and protected when being loaded into Defenders, taken to events and used day in, day out by the businesses we work with.

It’s a small change that makes a real difference to the amount of packaging we use, and one we can now pass on to our wholesale partners too.

Less disposable, more built to last and undeniably Northumberland coffee.

🌱 Being sustainable starts with buying local, using reusable packaging and always trying to make a more responsible choice.

What makes it even easier is having great partners such as @bageriapril, who share the same vision as you. 🩵

Very grateful for each and every one of you that bring your empty cans back when buying new coffees, and don’t forget that you always get 20kr off for every can you bring back. 🌈

We’re always looking for ways to do things a little better.

From this week, all of our coffee is now packed in reusable bags made by Moree in collaboration with @cairngormcoffeeco. It’s a small change that helps reduce single-use waste without compromising on quality.

As a bonus… we think they look damn good too.

Better for the coffee. Better for the planet. Better on the shelf.
