And just like that, summer is over.

Final bank holiday of the season and, I’m pleased to report, we are all still standing, still together and, perhaps most impressively, still speaking to one another.

Like a lot of Margate, we’ve had our busiest summer to date. We’ve learnt a lot about this little restaurant, what it can do, what we need to work on, and a fair bit about ourselves too.

There were incredible days and there were hard days, but mostly I’m just incredibly proud of this team. They have worked so bloody hard, looked after each other and welcomed a lot of people through our doors this summer.

It still stops me in my tracks that people walk up Northdown Road and choose to come and eat with us. Thank you. We never take it for granted.

Now, everyone gets a very well deserved breather. @eeeeeeeelisa is off to the Big Apple before returning with a new menu in mid-September, @the_yoga_coop is on a break this week, and Natalia is off to Portugal to work harvest @espera.wines soon.

From tomorrow, Sète moves into autumn hours: closed Wednesdays and Sundays, open from 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from midday Saturday.

And to our locals: the hordes are disappearing. Your favourite restaurants have tables again. Go and enjoy them. We’d very much like to see you too.

Cheers to summer 2026. You were a big one.

📸 @sargasso.bar for our pre-summer team night out.
smiling then, and smiling now 🧡

Anyone that’s new here, or has been meaning to eat with us and hasn’t made it yet!
Here’s a bit about what we do 🩷
MOP focuses on creating bold, naughty and sumptuous food. With a focus on sustainability, using seasonal local produce, and elevating it with inspiration and techniques from our favourite cuisines!
We love middle eastern and Chinese food, so we enjoy putting our spin on some of our faves!
We always aim to make our services fun, relaxed and not intimidating! Our food might look and taste fancy, but our prices are not! We want MOP to be as assessable as possible.
When we can, we create cocktails using ingredients from the food menu and waste products from the kitchen! We use as much of what we have as possible, creating condiments, garnishes and new dishes, from ingredients that usually go to waste, making innovative, fun and gorgeous dishes you want to eat!
Book a table now for our next event!

40 SHMORTY! 🤡 🧡✨

I can’t believe it’s been a week since my silly surprise birthday. Every time I sat down to post these I just ended up crying again. Partly because I feel so unbelievably lucky but partly because the one person I wanted to see them wouldn’t, and thats a feeling I’m finding difficult and cropping up all too often.

The past few years have been so enveloped in grief but also an immense amount of gratitude, I’m just so lucky to have made it to here and even luckier to have made it here with such wonderful people by my side. I never take it for granted, more so now than ever.

So here to the 40’s, BE GENTLE 👀🤣🧡✨

SUPRISE is an understatement

Cried multiple times

And was silly with some of my very favourite people

And looked cute doing it

So greatful for my friends

And for this one for not letting 40 pass me by quietly 🥹🧡💕

I wore this dress cos I thought I was sitting on steps for the evening lol

And all drew on the tablecloth so I can keep it forever

BLOOMIES

STILL NOT OVER IT

THE FINISHED PIECE

Me and my beloved pink besties 💕

FOR THE ARCHIVE (it’s a pair of vintage bloomers that is also a WASHCLOTH?!)

JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS GOING FOR A MARGARITA ON THE STEPS…I walked into my very own surprise clown themed 40th birthday party 😭🧡

A “big birthday” yes, but I’m so glad my besties knew even though I couldn’t handle anything big this year they couldn’t let it pass me by without the appropriate levels of SILLY! It was small, it was stupid, it was perfect.

The last few years has been a lot and I cannot believe we’re 6 months into this one already! Time is a confusing one and celebrations can feel a little complicated now. But being loved by chosen family who understand exactly where you’re at is honestly something I’ll never ever take for granted.

Thank you to my friends for making me feel so celebrated and seen, my darling @ohhello.amanda amd @felicityhayward for arranging such a perfect day and to all of you for your support, kindness and encouragement this year too.

Here’s to fuckin’ 40 tangerines! 🤡🧡✨
