Cooper is special. He is, hands down, the best dog we currently have, and I’m devastated to be waiting for results to find out if he has cancer. 💔 The vet was very blunt with me and said that, based on the appearance of the biopsy samples and the X-ray, he’s almost positive Cooper has a tumor on his forehead, just above his eye. There is, however, a small chance that it’s a pocket of infection caused by a foxtail that traveled from his nose up into his head. I was supposed to get the results last Friday, or Monday at the latest, but here we are on Wednesday with no results yet. I’m hoping we get them tomorrow because I’ve been beside myself waiting. To the point that, on the night of his vet visit last week, I thought I was having a heart attack and ended up taking my very first ambulance ride to the emergency room. No heart attack, just heartbreak, apparently. Cooper is the inspiration behind my lifesaving breakaway dog collars, @cooperscollarsusa. This beautiful tattoo design was originally created as the logo for Cooper’s Collars by the incredibly talented artist @3va.lines (it’s his face based on an actual photo I took of him) and brought to life on my skin by @morikotink. I’m so thankful that God brought this boy into my life five years ago. He was already five years old when we got him, and he has been an absolute angel since day one. He is SUCH a gift to our family, and I can’t imagine our lives without him. Please pray for us, especially for Cooper, that he doesn’t suffer. And please pray for me, too. Pray that I have the wisdom and strength to recognize when it’s time to let go, if that’s what it comes to, so that I never allow my desire to keep him here to prolong his suffering. And please pray that, whatever happens, the heartache doesn’t send me into a tailspin of grief that I can’t find my way back out of. I love this boy more than words can express, and I’m just not ready to say goodbye. 💔

some weddings just have THAT energy. the kind where cocktail hour feels like the start of the party. the dance floor never really recovers. people are crying during speeches then screaming lyrics 5 minutes later. and somehow nobody wants the night to end. yeah… this one was different. As soon as I planned to publish Like Home, I knew I wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate it. Thank you Annie of @morikotink for this beautiful art work! I’ve wanted to write a book forever, and having this little token on my arm will serve as a reminder any time I doubt myself. I’ve done it; the hard thing that I thought was always out of reach. I did it, and I can do it again! The placement is very intentional because I want to be able to see it when I’m writing; a little reminder and encouragement from my fave plant lady, Summer 🪴 I picked a pothos because they are resilient and strong, thriving no matter what. And I need to take that energy with me, wherever I go 🌱 If you want to read more about the debut that meant so much to me that I got a tattoo for it, read on: Like Home is perfect for fans of cozy romance, Gilmore Girls, and Sweet Magnolias 🏡🤍🪴🤍🏡🤍🪴 What happens when a woman reads “too many” romance novels and decides she deserves better? She just might get it 🫶🏻 Like Home is for you if you like: 🏡 Positive/neutral plus sized representation 🤍 swoon with a touch of spice 🪴no 3rd act breakup 🏡 complex family dynamics 🤍 Dual POV 🪴 MCs with emotional intelligence 🤍 Low angst, cozy romance Like Home is OUT NOW on KU and paperback (you know where to look for all the things!) 🏡🤍🪴 #bookish #reading #bookworm #contemporaryromance #indieauthor #kindleunlimited #newrelease #paperback #indiebooks #likehome #bookstareel #bookreels
