#LondonFrocktails Part 3
The fabulous evening was full of lovely meetings, smile, laughters, hugs, chats, compliments - and pictures and selfies for keeping all the good memories.

It’s so nice to meet again! On LondonFrocktails 2024, my first Frocktails, I walked catwalk with Jeanette @jeanettesewnesme and met her again at WelshFrocktailsCumry in Aberswyth last year. Helen was the first I met at the Prosecco reception at Premier Inn in Aberswyth, and it’s so nice to meet her and also Sue @sueleighatkins again.

How can 20 photos capture @londonfrocktails

I’ve tried with this selection, excuse me for not knowing everyone’s names. I met so many of my IG friends in real life for the first time and this connection for me is what I treasure. Thank you to everyone in the room, the night was one to remember.

#LondonFrocktails Part 1
The fabulous night one week ago starts with Susie @susietaylor313 and Jo in a cab on our way to Premier Inn London Southwark Tate Modern for Prosecco Reception. I shared table with Susie and Jo at @welshfrocktailscymru last year, and it was lovely to see them both again.

The first I had a chat with at the Processo Reseption was Glendora @chase.glendora. Since we are behind in Norway with The Great Britain Sewing Bee, she was new to me. She gave me tip of a visit to Walthamstow Market. If I understood her correct some of the textiles for her outfit was bought there.

And then I met Nic @septemberfaden. I had read about her lovely outfit, and it was unique, and the hem freshly sewed.

Where Nic @septemberfaden is, Helga @salixsew often are also. Last time I met then irl was at @welshfrocktailcumry.

I was so happy to meet and chat with Maria @velosews at @knitandstitchshows at Thursday, but forgot to take a selfie. So happy to see her again 🥰

Premier Inn Tate Modern was so kind hosting the Prosecco reception with Prosecco and lovely finger food.

We walked to The Swan - and I was breathtaken of the view by the Thames.

My new sewing friends took pictures of me in my freshly sewed dress with a beautiful view behind. I have draftet pattern with inspiration from a rtw dress bought at Santorini, and sewed in Turkish brocade from @saabtekstil.

What a fantastic couple of days spent in London with sewing internet friends who have become in-real-life friends. 🧡 Hanging out, eating, meeting new sewing friends ( 👋🏻 @thecurlycurl), having a 🍻, seeing an exhibit, fabric shopping (of course), and always laughing. Amazing days with @stitchmeayear @saraknitsandsews @corriesfancygoods and @judithrosalind ♥️♥️♥️

This year’s event was hosted by @susanyoungsewing @sewthreadbear @ooobop and @offshesews . and held @swanlondon_ near the Globe Theater. There was a lovely view of St. Paul’s Cathedral from the balcony. Gorgeous night. Thanks for the lovely party, ladies!

I didn’t take many pictures at all because I was too busy saying hello to old friends and fangirling new ones! 😂 So many lovely outfits and fabrics and details to gush over. @stitch_make_bake @morrissews @suestoney @loulou_sewsnz (these are just the ones I have photos of! There are so many more lovely people I chatted with. ♥️ ) I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s posts from the event and the day preceding!

And speaking of preceding events, for a second time, @premierinn has hosted a very special reception for the attendees of London Frocktails, many of whom stayed at surrounding Premier Inn properties for the event. Kate (above mentioned StitchMeAYear) arranged this treat through Premier Inn and I am so happy that she did! ♥️ From the welcome glass of bubbly to the lovely hors d’œuvres to the kind and thoughtful staff, Premier Inn was so happy to have us all gather and mingle before our party. Thank you to all of the staff at Premier Inn Bankside (Tate Modern) for a wonderful pre-party!

I had an amazing weekend at @londonfrocktails meeting up with lots of like minded sewists. I feel full to the brim with friendship and sewing inspiration

Fantastic venue, beautiful people and outfits and proud to have curated the dance floor playlist 💃🏻 🪩 what can I say the dance floor rocked all night

Thank you to the @londonfrocktails organisers @sewthreadbear @susanyoungsewing @ooobop @offshesews for an amazing night and @sewing_in_spain for organising lunch and breakfast

This is just 10 minutes (sped up 5.0x times) of today’s quilting of the giant #100plusheartsproject quilt. Some heart patches need help to sit flat and careful quilting can achieve that which I am thrilled to be able to achieve! My quilting which is a combination of scrolling hearts and spirals is uniting these heart patches that have travelled a great distance to be stitched together as a quilt. I am tagging some of the makers of the blocks.

“Embellishmends”- celebrate and enhance your clothes lived wears n tears with hand stitching and embroidery.

We are delighted to have been invited to host the “Mending Station” at this Saturday’s (27th June) first London #fairfashionfestival organised by @threadingchange taking place a stones throw from Fabrications @hackneydepot

Bring along a well loved/used item (jeans, shirts, skirts with woven “stable” fabric) with rips, holes, stains, missing buttons, in need of some TLC. The wonderful @selina.latour will be on hand to support, guide and draw out your creativity and resourcefulness. All extra materials and tools provided. Beginner Friendly.

Selina is also offering a longer/deeper session “Visible Mending using hand embroidery” as part of Fabrications “Summer School” programme in July.

Both activities are inspired by our beloved Kate Sekules book “Mend - a Refashioning manual and manifesto” @visiblemend (also stocked at Fabrications)

I’ve never done a #MondayMending post before! I just mended my jeans. Me! Well, with patient and thoughtful help from Tricia @morrissews ❤️ I messaged her when I discovered this worn spot on the front of my jeans. Apparently this is where the front part (juuuuuust underneath the zipper) folds when I sit down. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My first thought was to burn them, they were useless to me. 😉 Just kidding. Then I thought a blue Sharpie ought to cover that up nicely. 😂 Turned out that white place was THREAD, barely hanging on. 😱 A Sharpie was NOT going to fix it.

Then I remembered that Tricia is always mending and doing such an amazing job with it; maybe she could help me not truly mess this up? 😃 She DID! She was so kind and helped me figure out that my stitches should be shorter and to try and follow the pattern of the diagonal weave. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Yes, I was just sewing across the spot. 😂

I eventually got it done. And done is better than PRETTY. 😂 I also added some yellow “topstitching” to make the mended part blend in. 😂 I’d say my skills are on par for a five year old just learning to hand sew. And that’s not very nice to the five year old. Lololol.

But now I can wear the jeans! 👖 Too bad it’s too hot to wear them now. 🤷🏼‍♀️
