Two years ago, if someone had told me that I would bring my sculpture of a cow made from milk packaging and recycled plastic to an art festival in the UAE - I wouldn’t have believed it.
But it happened. And it happened thanks to ordinary people. Thank you ❤️
So what is this festival?
It’s RAKART 2026 @rakart.ae , an international contemporary art festival that brought together over 100 artists from more than 40 countries. Very different people, backgrounds and languages all sharing one space and one moment in time.
Sculpture, installations, painting, performances, video art, costume design and more. Strong works and real dialogue not staged, but honest and alive.
The opening was attended by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, with whose support the festival is organized. I even managed to speak with him briefly and shake his hand (sadly, no photo survived 🤷‍♂️).
The festival is still ongoing, and there are truly many powerful artists here.
This year’s theme is “Civilization.”
From musical installations with forgotten languages to works made from lost single socks, plastic bottles, photography, painting and sculpture - this is only a small part of what’s here.
RAKART is not only about art. It’s also about people: workshops, talks, concerts, live music, places for children and adults. The atmosphere is alive: people walk, look, discuss and return.
All this takes place in the historic village of Al Jazeera Al Hamra @aljazeeraalhamra , founded in the late 16th–early 17th century. Once home to fishermen and pearl divers, abandoned in the 1970s, today it is carefully restored, preserving its character and traces of time.
Now it’s an open-air gallery where art meets history.
Festival runs until February 8, and the artworks remain until March 31, 2026.
If you close to art and the magic of ancient places - visit Ras Al Khaimah.
And don’t forget to tag me if you meet my cow along the way 🐄✨

A few more behind-the-scenes photos — this exhibition was just as intense as meaningful.
There’s so much that stayed off-camera.
Thank you to everyone who came to support me — it truly means the world! 🥹🫂🤍
