This summer, one of Australia’s most truly iconic artists is getting a major new exhibition in his own backyard. ‘Ken Done: 1980 to now’ is landing at Mosman Art Gallery on November 7, celebrating more than four decades of the artist’s wonderfully colourful work, from Sydney Harbour landscapes and Chinamans Beach views to family portraits and scenes from everyday life. Opening with a family-friendly street party on Saturday, November 7, the exhibition will feature street food, music and free art workshops. It’s a chance to revisit the work of an artist whose vivid, joy-filled style has become part of Australia’s visual identity. 📍 Mosman Art Gallery 📅 November 7, 2026 – January 31, 2027 🎟️ $25 ($20 for gallery members)

Repost @mosmanart 🙌🏽🎨🫟 . Dapeng Liu, Somewhere Else, oil on canvas Inspired by a fleeting encounter with evening light, Dapeng Liu’s Somewhere Else began with the final rays of sunset filtering through roadside trees along Old Northern Road in Dural. Although the moment lasted only seconds, its atmosphere lingered long after it disappeared. Rather than documenting the scene exactly as it appeared, Liu uses colour, gesture and shifting space to recover the emotional resonance of the experience, exploring the delicate balance between observation and memory, human order and the unpredictability of the natural world. Come and discover Somewhere Else alongside 73 other outstanding works in the 2026 Mosman Art Prize. 📍 Mosman Art Gallery | 21 August – 26 October Thanks to our prize partners: Gillian Jones, @mosmancouncil @bresicwhitney @fourthvillageprovidore @colormaker_industries @mosmanartsocietyinc @thealbertmosman @quakers_hat @hungerfordhill @artistprofile

Repost @mosmanart 🙌🏽🎨 . Liam Nunan, A body falling, oil on canvas The ancient story of Icarus is reimagined in Liam Nunan’s A body falling. Reflecting on an era shaped by artificial intelligence, political turbulance and climate uncertainty, the painting considers humanity’s enduring pursuit of power, progress and transcendence. Through the image of a falling body, Nunan draws a connection between contemporary anxieties and a timeless cautionary tale, exploring the fine line between ambition and self-destruction. Come and discover A body falling alongside 73 other outstanding works in the 2026 Mosman Art Prize. 📍 Mosman Art Gallery | 21 August – 26 October Thanks to our prize partners: Gillian Jones, @mosmancouncil @bresicwhitney @fourthvillageprovidore @colormaker_industries @mosmanartsocietyinc @thealbertmosman @quakers_hat @hungerfordhill @artistprofile

Congratulations to @jill_swart_art on her current In Profile exhibition at @mosmanart Gallery. One of our life members, her well-deserved feature opened alongside the prestigious Mosman Art Prize in August, and has sold a number of pieces in the time since. If you haven't already been, there's still time to view her work! "In Profile: Jill Swart" is on show until Monday 26 October. From the gallery website: "As a lifelong resident of Mosman, Swart’s work is deeply inspired by the place she has always called home. For over ninety years Swart has lived among its streets, bushland and harbour, drawing endless inspiration from the natural beauty and architectural character that surrounds her. Working primarily in linocut and woodcut, she is drawn to the textures, shapes and quiet beauty of everyday subjects. Whether depicting a familiar home, a native flower, or a tiny creature often overlooked, her aim is to encourage others to pause, observe and appreciate the extraordinary beauty that exists in our everyday surroundings." Uccello 2026 137x122cm Synthetic polymer on canvas. This painting is up until the end of the month @mosmanart in the prize for those in Sydney. Uccello is also a bird in Italian. The painting has its roots in sacred geometry but also is an example of the ‘cubit’ motif which I’ve been using for quite a while.
