🌊 Nature doesn’t have a political party. But it has a stake in every election.

“Whether we or our politicians know it or not, Nature is party to all our deals and decisions, and she has more votes, a longer memory, and a sterner sense of justice than we do.” - Wendell Berry, writer, poet, and environmental advocate.

As the United States approaches the November 3 midterm elections, these words feel especially relevant.

The decisions we make today will shape the health of our planet for generations to come. From protecting our oceans and coastlines to confronting climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, what’s at stake extends far beyond any election cycle.

At @PangeaSeed, we believe art, science, and storytelling can inspire people to see the natural world differently and recognize our shared responsibility to protect it. But awareness is only the beginning. Meaningful change requires participation, accountability, and action.

Regardless of political affiliation, we all have a role to play in shaping the future of our planet.

This November, learn where candidates stand on environmental issues, make informed decisions, and let your voice be heard.

Elections come and go. The consequences of our decisions endure.

Our oceans. Our planet. Our collective future. 💙

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!🐚📣

What if your city became our next canvas? 🎨

We’re opening a limited number of opportunities to partner with cities and local organizations on commissioned public art projects.

From a single site-specific mural to larger multi-site initiatives, we work with local partners to create public art rooted in place, community, culture, and the environment. 🌊🌿

PangeaSeed brings the creative strategy, artist curation, and production experience to take a project from idea to completion.
This is a partner-funded creative services opportunity, not an open call for artists or a grant opportunity.

Know someone working in public art, cultural affairs, parks, tourism, planning, redevelopment, or economic development? Send this their way. 📩

The Sonivore fundraiser event is happening 🎶‼️

October 9 | 7PM-11PM
701 Front Street

DONATE + RSVP: Venmo @sonivoremusic | Note: “Fundraiser”

In coordination with the Kickstarter campaign that’s currently running, I’m throwing this community event so people can not only support at a level that feels comfortable for them, but to experience the location before we transform it into its final form.

Pull up and support the coming to life of Santa Cruz’s first all-vinyl listening lounge! DJs, Live performance, art, food, drinks, community; it’s gonna be a night!

RSVP for entry by pledging to the Kickstarter or sending your preferred donation amount on Venmo to @sonivoremusic with “Fundraiser” in the note. You can also donate at the door.

Both QRs are on the flyer, and all proceeds go toward bringing Sonivore to life downtown.

Let’s call this segment, SOLD & Going Home. Because after we went IG Live yesterday and talked about all the work that we had in the show we did something incredible and found homes for all of this beautiful work.

The thing about selling artwork is that buyers need to know more about the work and the artist to really understand whether it’s gonna be something that will fit in their home or not. The nice thing about being the Curator of the show and having personal relationships with each of these individuals is that we are the ones that have access to tap into what sparked the creativity and what inspires the creation of that work.

It is true that “art” can really be open for the interpretation of the buyer, but for most who will end up bringing this new artwork home, we want to know how the work can fit in certain spaces in our homes. So having some kind of background will help gravitate the work to the appropriate individual.

(Dad joke incoming):
Buying art is almost like dating when you’re single. Before you take it home, you need to know more about the piece/person/art…

That is of course, unless you’re an art hoe which of course we love them (hoes).

Either way Pimpin ain’t easy bb.

But we digress and give thanks to all the artists, collectors, and everyone who has provided new homes for all of these beautiful pieces.

Thank you!

2 things will happen @cukui tomorrow (9/30):

1. The @methodmakers 💣r art exhibition will close for good.
2. @methodmade will go live on IG to close out our celebration. In our chat we’ll discuss the details surrounding the different artist and their work in the show.
3. Curators hours to see the artwork in person from 12:30 - 2:00 PM before we begin packing and preparing the artwork to ship out and to be picked up.

Every two years we inaugurate the work that the global @methodmakers network creates in the streets by hosting this special show. This year without Method Made SF Gallery, we were fortunate to have our family @cukui welcome us to have our exhibition here.

35+ Artist from world. Hectic deadlines. Resources which include (but limited to) time, energy, money, patience… all to have this experience and display of work amongst some of our favorite artists we’ve been following over the course of the 2 years leading up to this show.

If you are able to visit @cukui tomorrow the exhibition will not come down until 2 PM where you can purchase any last minute works while we are there.

Including all the 35+ artists that have participated, and our @cukui family and staff who graciously held down our exhibition, we’d like to send a heartfelt thank you to both @queenmethods and @hofmeister art from the @methodmade team. Without Patrick’s vision and meticulous precision to details the walls would not be as perfect as it was curated. To @queenmethods everyone who has artwork on the site, a beautiful flyer to print and share digitally, as well as have product to buy from our marketplace - (TMMDL.com) absolutely none of that is possible without her.

Now with all that said. Who’s gonna meet us at @cukui tomorrow?

With Too Many Methods,
-TMMDL

We’re heading toward the Murray Street Bridge (back open temporarily as of this week! 🎉) for this #MuralMonday, to the Seabright neighborhood and Days Market. This spot has always been an incredible canvas for local artists.

Back in 1984, local artist Gary Yakima Geyer painted a Santa Cruz classic, the image featured block letters spelling out D A Y S with an ocean inside them. In later years, that ocean was painted over with solid blue waves, perhaps the fading on this sun-soaked wall encouraged the overall refresh. I’d say this is one of the classic, original murals I can remember in Santa Cruz (see the last 2 images in the carousel).

The mural gracing the wall today (painted in 2018) is its own thing of beauty, created by local artists whose work you’ll find scattered throughout Santa Cruz County. This piece is a stunning showcase of the Seabright coast and the nature that graces these waters. I love every detail, the way the whales seem to look right at you, the scale of the harbor jacks, the lighthouse in the distance, and those epic sky colors we get to enjoy so often around here. 🐋🌅

Can only imagine what an undertaking this new piece was to create and how much fun it must have been too! Do you remember the classic “Days” mural?
