I used to write letters.
Not emails. Not posts.
Just scrappy little notes, usually late, usually heartfelt.
Then I stopped. Life sped up. The inbox got louder.

Now we’re starting something here in France.
A place for families to slow down.
To live a bit differently.
To remember how good it feels to eat together, make things with our hands, let kids be kids.

And weirdly, launching something like this means coming back online.
Back onto social media.
After five years away.

It’s full-on.
But we’re doing it our way.

Starting small.
Sending real postcards to real people.
One at a time.

If you want one—something you can hold, stick on your fridge, pass on to a friend—send me your address.
We’ll post it the old way.

Not just building a project.
Building a pace.

Pela estrada desce a noite

Mãe-Negra, desce com ela...

Nem buganvílias vermelhas,

nem vestidinhos de folhos,

nem brincadeiras de guisos,

nas suas mãos apertadas.

Só duas lágrimas grossas,

em duas faces cansadas.

Mãe-Negra tem voz de vento,

voz de silêncio batendo

nas folhas do cajueiro...

Their first date was a double date with Joe’s best friend and his special lady where the four drove from Minneapolis to a bar in Danbury Wisconsin( over 90 minute drive) to dance the afternoon away! Teenage love that lasted almost 69 years. [ photo taken October 1947 in Northeast Minneapolis on Joe and Al’s wedding day ]
