A WORLD WAR 1, The Great War story short film. I was so honoured to be part of and to share the screen with the talented @svenruygrok

I was honouring my great grandfather George Pleass and his two brothers and their time in France and Belgium during the Union of South Africa's tour of the Great War. The war that was suppose to end all wars.

I think this was my first unintentional comedic South African accent role back in 2015 on an epic short film called DESTINATION for the #48hourfilmproject directed by my bestest friend @chparker . I am sharing the scene with the multitalented director & actor @kelsey.egan . Looking back at the screening I was a bit taken back & offended at the audience's instant response to my character when the entire theater started laughing. For me it was a serious scene. So looking back now I guess the greater public saw something I didn't know I had..... and this was a crossroads to my comedic acting career.

My first speaking role back in 2015 on an epic short film called RECOVERY cowritten and directed by my bestest friend @chparker . Dam I remember being so nervous and getting nothing from main actor the talented @francischouler which made the scene so perfect because he made me really work to show that I really cared for my friend. Looking back now its crazy to think that this unique storyline about how people return back to the norm of society after an epic Zombie virus decimated the worlds population was shot 5 years before COVID. It was truly ahead of its time.

What happens when a forgotten future answers the call of an ancient past?
This world is my attempt to listen to that echo. A place where stone gods watch over rivers of light, and the sky carries the hum of a new mythology. “The Unwanted Journey” is a cinematic myth told without words. A solo exploration of heritage, rebellion, and the beautiful, violent cost of becoming yourself.
Sound on is essential.

After months of hard work, The ABC Killer is officially live on Showmax!
I’m incredibly proud to have been part of this gripping true-crime production.

This is a story that needed to be told — raw, real, and haunting. Don’t miss it.

🎬 The ABC Killer — now streaming on Showmax.

Here is the title sequence for my latest series #theabckillershowmax. It was created by the maestro @chparker from @motifstudios and scored by the expert team at @pressurecookerstudios. It captures the essence of the series so wonderfully and continues to build on the quality of work I want to produce locally in South Africa.

Thanks again to a stellar team that worked so tirelessly to make this project what it is. Much love!

Thrilled to finally share the trailer for my new documentary series “The ABC Killer”. I happened upon this story at the end of 2022 and it’s a story that’s taken me into some of the most interesting and unnerving spaces and a bygone era in the city of gold that I feel we have beautifully captured in this work.

Thank you to @showmaxonline for the platform.

A few years ago, I animated Spidey doing a thing. I think it’s safe to say that we all went through a phase of animating Miles after watching the first Spiderverse.

Thanks Craig Parker (from Motif Studios) for the amazing comp work!

A little behind the song:

Back in the 80s South Africa, any kid would switch on the television and get their friendly neighbourhood Spiderman in Xhosa-language dub. You would hear ‘Rabobi’ and stop and watch good old Spidey fill the screen.
