🎉 It’s my 1 year bookstaversary on @hijabi.booknook 🎉

#QOTD: How long have you been on bookstagram?

I have technically been on Bookstagram since 2020 but had a different account then. I love Bookstagram so much and am so grateful for all 1.5K+ of you! Thank you so much for your support! 🫶🏻💕🥰

📝Here’s some pictures of my favourite book of 2026 so far. This is the Illumicrate edition of The Poet Empress by Shen Tao.

📚If you follow me you know my favourite genre is fantasy but that I’m also a huge mood reader and go through phases of reading different genres at a time. I’m currently in a literary fiction mood. I do also read historical fiction and sometimes classics, contemporary or romance books.

🥰Also wanted to feature some of my favourite accounts. There’s so many I love and I wasn’t able to include everyone! 💕

12 books by 12 friends

Qotd: what is a book you got recommended and loved?

Finally my 12 books by 12 friends post is here! I decided to make a journal page for it to keep track of them and so far I have already read Paladin’s Grace and I LOOOVED IT!! Thank you @maaikeslittlelibrary for recommending it bc it was right up my alley! I mean a mystery in a fantasy setting + a cute yearning romance? The best!

Thank you all for giving me these recs! I got waaay more than 12 so I really had to make some choices (don’t feel bad if yours isn’t here) and mostly based if off of books I already owned or am planning to get soon! I think I’m now most excited for This Fatal Kiss🩵

Have a lovely Sunday! And hope you are reading something fun!

❄️ what's on your must read list?

i'm very grateful to have a timeline, friends and mutuals who think and care about the world in the same way I do. it still however makes me sad that there are humans out there that would harm another (with gross enjoyment) the way we've seen for so long now.

my 2026 reading journal set-up ♡

I've had a ton of fun setting this up and while I've kept a lot of the spreads from my 2025 journal, I've had a blast coming up with my own incentives to read more.

I enjoyed tracking my books, the book bingo as well highlighting my end of year favs. I've also got some exciting reccs to look forward to!

however my newest spread is inspired by stray kids (bc who doesn't love it when worlds collide?)

a spread i struggled with for my last journal were my reading goals. I probably only ticked one off so to encourage myself to actually meet these goals, I've renamed it the stray kids reading challenge and even have a whole rewards and point system in place.

so, I'm definitely gonna have a lot of fun with this one.

do you have a reading journal? if so, what's your favourite spread you've done?

♡

hello lovelies!! i havent doodled in sooo long so it was so much fun to doodle on this picture!! i wanted to share two fairly opposite fantasy reccs that are on my shelf and both definitely five stars! ive finished the ember quartet (more like it finished ME) last year and i’ve read 2/3 of the emily wilde series and i just KNOW i’ll love book 3 too! 🩵

ember is an important series, reflecting so much of the real world and it will break you into a million pieces but its SOOOOO good like i can’t recommend it enough!

emily wilde on the other though also high stakes at times, is more of a cozy fantasy and some descriptions feel like a warm hug - perfect for the colder months!

qotd: what is your fave fantasy series? 🩵

💜 Book Review💜

*no spoilers*

Sometimes, there are series that we really hope to love but it doesn’t happen, and that was Little Thieves for me. Reading it wasn’t the experience I expected but, I decided to give a second chance to the series, because I really love Vanja and Emeric. My problem was that, Painted Devils wasn’t enough to finally hold me.

My conclusion is, as much as I love these two very specific characters, I don’t care about the story, and that was a big disappointment. Honestly, I think my problem is the author’s writing. I couldn’t connect with the plot or understanding what was going on, and that was really disheartening. Also, the worldbuilding was better in the first book and, once again, the pace didn’t help. For pages, nothing happened and then, almost in the end, everything happened, and it was so confusing and frustrating. And that ending?! Girl no, no. WHERE THAT COMES FROM?!

And this really makes me mad, you know why? Because Vanja and Emeric deserve better. They were the reason I read two books instead of DNF the first one. I said what I said and I don’t regret it. Their moments were cute and funny, their dynamic is top tier, they ARE GOALS, ok? When they are together, in the same scene, that book turns something else, something really good. And, once again, that’s why I don’t understand… WHERE THAT FINAL COMES FROM?!

I know I seem crazy, but I’m mad. I read two books and things come back to the start… like, girl, why? I will, maybe, read the last one because I need to know what will happen with my babies. And because I have the best buddy read partners (@motivaima @tahaslibrary ) and support @letters_inkorporated
Sorry to the three of you for not enjoying it more. I still love you all 🥹

🇸🇩 Book Stack for Sudan 🇸🇩

Saw this being done by @library.ofz - thank you, I would have missed it otherwise.

As it stands today, Sudan is going through one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. Hundred of thousands have died, tens of millions have been displaced and even more are facing acute hunger since April 2023.

For every #bookstackforsudan shared featuring the Sudanese flag colours from now through December 1st, 2025 (11:59 PM EST), Kieran (@kieranjanebooks) and Dan (@dan.devours.words ) will donate $2 (up to $200) to the Sudanese American Physicians Association.

If you’re able to match donations, please reach out to them.

Keep eyes on Sudan & remember them in your prayers and thoughts.

I’ve tagged a few folks to participate in this tag and hopefully help spread the word and raise awareness about the horrific situation.

💜 10 Before the End 💜

These posts are starting to be my annual walk of shame, honestly 😅 Half of this list was here last year and two of those have being a “priority read” since 2023… I swear I don’t do it on purpose! I really want to read all of them, I swear! But then, other books appeared, new and shiny, and I forget all my good intentions 🥲

My friends even made a TBR for me in November and I didn’t read anything from it yet… But I will! I’m one ARC away from going back to my physical TBR, and these are the books I expect to read until the end of the year 🙏🏻 starting with the ones @motivaima and @letters_inkorporated choose for me.

💜 Stolen Heir
💜 A Winter of White Ash
💜 The God and the Gumiho
💜 Iron Widow
💜 Sword Catcher
💜 A Steeping of Blood
💜 Immortal Longings
💜 Forging Silver into Stars
💜 For She is Wrath
💜 Girl, Goddess, Queen

🍂10 before the end🍂

What’s a book you want to read before the year ends?

Aka probably I will only read half of these but we can try right??? Thanks for the tag @offoolsandmadmen :). I’m also a bit late with this, but I hope I will get to read more soon!

I mean I already read The teller of small fortunes (I didn’t want to change my list hihi) and I loved it! It was so cozy and also adventureous and the best found family🥹

Ooo and tell me if you’ve read any of these!
