POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This is Transfer Week, and we are celebrating Peyton Hastings.

Peyton graduated from Shelbyville Central High School and is the first person in the family to go to college. After starting at Motlow State Community College, Peyton transferred to Middle Tennessee State University, where Peyton was accepted into the honors scholarship program, with plans to attend medical school and become a physician.

"Because of tnAchieves, I was able to attend college without the financial stress of paying for my courses and books."

Peyton's advice for new students: "Always dream big, never give up and always work hard. Do not be afraid to reach out for help, because there are many resources available to help you succeed."

With Tennessee Promise, community college is tuition-free. Planning to transfer? Start at tnachieves.org/transfer.

Over the past several weeks, participants at Motlow State and Volunteer State Community Colleges have been building new skills and earning credentials through the CREST Biotechnician Bootcamp.

We caught up with a few of them to hear what drew them to the program, what challenged them along the way, and what comes next in their careers. Their stories offer a glimpse into how hands-on training is helping people across the Mid-South find a foothold in the growing biotech industry. Click the link in our bio to hear about some of their experiences!

🧠 The future isn't waiting for higher education...

Higher education must prepare for the future.

Had an outstanding conversation with Dr. Michael Torrance, President of Motlow State Community College, Air Force veteran, author, and one of higher education's leading voices on artificial intelligence.

✨ Leadership
🤖 AI
🎓 Student Success
🏭 Workforce Development
🌎 Community Impact

One quote I can't stop thinking about:

"The institution better be prepared for the students that are coming."

Powerful.

The future of the automotive industry isn’t just sitting in a classroom—it’s being built with skilled hands.

Today we had the privilege of welcoming students from Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology to Iconic Speed and Design.

We shared how careers in fabrication, machining, welding, design, and restoration can open doors to incredible opportunities.

The skilled trades are alive and well, and we’re excited to help inspire the next generation of craftsmen.

What trade would you have chosen?
