FOUND ALIVE opens Sitges!

Sitges reaches its 59th edition celebrating half a century of Carrie
and ¿Quién puede matar a un niño? (Who Can Kill a Child?).
Opening that edition, with this film — I can't think of a better place
or better company.

Coming back to Sitges is always coming home. Doing it with this film,
on opening night and in Official Competition, still doesn't feel real.
It was made by a lot of people who poured everything into it and who
stayed with me until the very last frame.

October 8. We watch it together.

Based on the award-winning novel The Edge of Normal, by Carla Norton.

Volver a Sitges siempre es volver a casa. Hacerlo con esta película, en la noche inaugural y en Sección Oficial, es algo que no me creo del todo. Está hecha por mucha gente que se dejó la piel en ella y que ha aguantado conmigo hasta el último fotograma.

El 8 de octubre la vemos juntos.

Grateful is an understatement. Yesterday marked the culmination of years of relentless dreaming as two of my worlds merged at the @filmindependent Spirit Awards. The Baltimorons closed its magical run — countless screenings, an Audience Award at @sxsw , and a John Cassavetes nomination.

Thank you @jayduplass for having faith and taking a chance on two random dudes from Baltimore who just want to make movies, and for bringing the talented @lizthelarsen for a joy ride around Charm City.

Thank you to Baltimore City and all her amazing artists, film makers, and the most passionate talented crew - the soul of the film is derived from everyone of you.

Thank you @independentfilmco for believing in this film, and sharing it with the world. It will live on forever, and now everyone can spend the holidays at my grannies house.

This weekend, Pee-wee as Himself earned another accolade with Best New Non-Scripted or Documentary series.

Forever thankful for @peeweeherman , the experience, and the stories and the friendship made along the way.

From College Park, to shooting sketches on random LA beaches, to the freezing streets of Baltimore, one of the most rewarding experiences has been watching my friend grow as an actor, writer, and producer - I’ll go anywhere with you Bub @strasshola

I’m so grateful to witness these stories find their audiences. To see resilience turn into recognition and to stand in rooms that once felt so far away is not taken for granted.

The Baltimorons finished its miraculous two year run yesterday at the @filmindependent spirit awards!
None of this would be possible without the man in the middle right here, @jayduplass he took a chance on an unknown comedy boy from the internet who sweats a lot and an amazing incredible Broadway actress @lizthelarsen, and put us together! What we made was this romcom, buddy comedy, dramaedy, with the worst heist scene ever in film and set it at Christmas in Baltimore. And guess what, people dug the hell out of it! He saw how magical this movie could be before anyone else did and even though we didn’t win, this collaboration and more importantly friendship in this life is the greatest award I have ever received. I am forever grateful for him, and that initial DM that started this journey. I love you big cat!

Lastly, you don’t know what’s on the other side of a suicide attempt, so please stick around and don’t leave, I am so so so happy I am still here, cause this life is truly a dream.

Today ends a tremendous two year run after shooting the Baltimorons to sharing it with the world. Audience award winner at @sxsw, countless festival awards, an incredible theatrical release, and finishing up with two independent spirit award nominations. I couldn’t be more proud or thankful, but most grateful that Michael Strassner is here with us on planet Earth, and that “the belt broke because (he) was holding a little bit of holiday weight” (Michael’s words). I forever belong to everyone who put their heart and soul into this film and believed in me and helped me come back to filmmaking when I wasn’t doing so great either. 🫡❤️
