Marie-Claire and I decided that we have been working together on weddings for nearly two decades at @mountedgcumbe and Amy & Shaams wedding at the end of September reminded me, if I needed any reminder, of why I love working there! I’m obviously going to rave about this one because 1. it was bloody gorgeous, and 2. it’s where I got married four years ago!

Mount Edgcumbe really is something special, and the Orangery remains, by far, my favourite building in Cornwall to photograph 🍊

A stunning day from beginning to end. Gorgeous colours, happy faces, a slightly hairy 4x4 journey to some of the best viewpoints, and a bit of shanty singing thrown in for good measure.

We’re getting ready for a little Halloween magic! 🎃

The Fantastical Halloween Experience at Mount Edgcumbe promises to be a little different, and we can’t wait!

Think spooky adventures, a ghoul-hunting quest, live entertainment, creative workshops and plenty of Halloween fun for the whole family. It’s all about the magic, mischief and making memories.

Running from 30th October to 1st November, it looks like the perfect half-term adventure, and we’re so excited to experience it for ourselves!

The Fantastical Halloween Experience is almost here...

In just one week, Mount Edgcumbe will be filled with spooky characters, interactive challenges, live entertainment, creative activities, traders, food and plenty of family-friendly Halloween fun.

Children can become ghoul hunters, track down the Scarecrow, Clowns, Reaper and Witch, complete their challenges and collect stickers and treats along the way 👻

Something spooky is taking over Mount Edgcumbe this half term… and apparently, they’re recruiting GHOUL HUNTERS! 👀🎃

You might remember we visited the Fantastical Magic Festival at Dartington Hall during the summer? Well, the team behind it are back with another fantastical adventure, only this time, things are getting a little SPOOKY! 👻

Think witches, scarecrows, creepy clowns and the Grim Reaper, all waiting to be discovered as you make your way around the grounds, solving riddles, completing challenges and collecting treats along the way.

And there’s more! 🪄 Wizardry workshops, live entertainment, spooky activities, street food and a Halloween market inside Mount Edgcumbe House.

It’s designed to be more magical than terrifying, so ideal for little Halloween fans who aren’t quite ready for the REALLY scary stuff! 💀

And if you love this sort of thing, keep your eyes peeled, because they’ve got a Christmas experience coming to House of Marbles too! Each event has its own theme and activities, so there’s always something different to discover. ✨

Isabelle and Peter’s wedding at Mount Edgcumbe House had everything: a ferry ride across Plymouth Sound, a beautiful ceremony in the Great Hall, and a dance floor that kept going all evening.

Peter waited with his best man, Patrick, as little Wilfred and Cleo led the way, followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Then Isabelle arrived on her dad Dave’s arm—and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

Once the mist cleared, everyone made their way to the Orangery with the Roaming Folks Band. Speeches brought plenty of laughs (and a few tears), before CASA got the party started.

As Lord Byron put it, “There is no instinct like that of the heart.” And with videographer Byron there to capture it all, the name was certainly on theme. 😉
