You may not control what happened.

You can still control how you respond.

You can’t always control the setback.

You can control what you keep showing up for.

Stay in the fight.

Still stuck at zero push-ups? Do not only keep attempting the hardest version.

Build the movement in stages: practise the shoulder position, use an incline you can control, then gradually add more of the full floor range.

A simple progression:

1. Scapular push-ups
2. Wall push-ups
3. Barbell push-ups
4. Kneeling push-ups
5. Worm-up push-ups
6. Slow eccentrics
7. Bottom isometric holds

Start with the hardest version you can control well — then make it a little harder over time. Save this for your next push day.

Send this to a Dad or Mum who needs reminding. ❤️

Reminder: if your schedule allows you to walk your kids to school, take them to every practice, show up for all their games, and be there for all the little moments in between, you’ve already reached the peak level of success.

Your lower back is not made of glass — but it does deserve sensible, progressive training.

This is one simple way to cover different demands:

• Reverse Hyper holds: controlled extension strength (5 Second hold)
• Seated rotations: controlled rotation
• Jefferson curls: controlled forward-fold range
• Pallof press: resisting rotation

Start with a range and load you can control. No exercise fixes every back issue, and persistent or worsening symptoms are worth discussing with an appropriate health professional.

Save this for your next lower-back session — and send it to the person who thinks their back should never move.
