6 hours and 11 minutes. 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

From getting swam over and hit in the head, to bumpy roads, hills on hills, and finishing with a half marathon in +38°C heat, even more hills, and a headache from the heat, we kept going.

My only goal going into this race was to finish.

I completed the 1.9 km swim in 39 minutes, mostly doing breaststroke because I kept getting swam over. Then came the 90 km bike, which I finished in 2 hours and 57 minutes on a course filled with hills.

The week before the race, I had just gotten my bike fitted, my gears fixed, and new tires put on. I had only done two outdoor rides and two outdoor swims leading into it, and I hadn’t run since the middle of June.

Once I got into T2, I took my time. I looked around and tried to take it all in, the loud crowd, the excitement, and complete strangers cheering me on. I looked at my watch and thought, “Wow, I could actually finish in under seven hours.”

Little did I know I would finish in under 6:15.

Official finish time: 6 hours and 11 minutes.

I will absolutely be doing this again, and next time I’ll be coming back stronger.

Sub-six hours, I’m coming for you.

Next on the list: a full marathon, more 70.3s, and one day, a full 140.6-mile IRONMAN. 🤍

Crocs and goodr, sponsor me already.
