POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It took me a while to process this. Before anything else, my thoughts are with everyone affected by the worst storm and flooding this Spanish region has seen in 20 years.

Ironman Calella-Barcelona ‘26 was officially cancelled on the eve of the race, which also happened to be my birthday. While I completely understand, it was still a deeply hard pill to swallow. I want to be vulnerable here because it’s okay not to be okay… I cried hard.

This has been a challenging year. I’ve pushed myself in all aspects of my life, giving my positive energy to everyone and everything I care about, but forgetting to leave for myself. I quietly believed that crossing this finish line would validate it all. When the race was cancelled, it initially felt like all the sacrifice and hope just went down the drain. 💔

It took me a while what i realize.
First, I was humbled by my friends. Even while they were privately dealing with their own heartbreak over the cancelled race, they still rallied to celebrate my birthday. That selflessness meant everything to me.

Then, when the storm finally cleared yesterday afternoon, the disappointment could have been the end of the story. But @ruby.the.triathlete made the call to do our own marathon, and what happened next was pure magic. Other triathletes saw what we were doing and joined in, turning an empty course into a shared mission.

Running 42km still brought all the expected physical suffering, but hearing the local Calella residents and the global Ironman community come out to cheer for an “unofficial” race…especially after what their region just went through…was touching. I somehow crossed our makeshift finish line with an unofficial PB, but the real victory was witnessing the unbreakable spirit of this endurance community.

Sometimes the races we don’t plan for are the ones we remember forever. Thank you to everyone who checked in on me. To my teammates who were with me… thank you and I love you guys. You know who you are.

We keep moving forward. 🖤

I just finished the #75hard challenge. I got this idea due to my friend @rituja.udpikar and I am a regular follower of #aaryvlogs so due to @iyogitabihani and @aaryamannsethi. It was a simple challenge of walking a minimum 20 minutes every single day and eating home made meals.
