The beginnings of something very exciting 🌱

So thrilled to be embarking on @movingfascia teacher training with @barretxeguren , looking forward to much more exploration of the fascial landscape of our incredible bodies, and to the added depth that this will bring into my teaching in the studio 🐚

Deep breath, dive in 🌀

What does it mean to bring a fascial understanding into the way you observe, experience and teach movement?

Moving Fascia Teacher Training combines immersive training with ten months of ongoing mentorship, giving you the time and framework to explore this in depth.

Through embodied experience and continued guidance, you deepen your understanding of fascia, enrich the way you observe movement and develop the critical thinking needed to bring a fascial approach into your teaching.

The 2027 training begins in March with three immersive training weekends, in Brighton or live online, followed by ten months of online mentoring with me.

Applications are now open. Full details through the link in bio.

Your fascia is a 3D web of connective tissue that connects you from head to toe—and it thrives on varied, multidimensional movement rather than repetitive, linear patterns.

Slow, controlled movements can help prepare the body while challenging your balance, proprioception and core strength. Over time, this can support mobility, resilience and healthy longevity.

When we treat the body as one interconnected system, we can work towards better structural alignment, cellular health and nervous system regulation.

Self-massage and fascial release tools can also help mobilise areas of restriction, including stiff or dehydrated tissue and areas affected by scar tissue, potentially improving range of movement.

Stress plays a big role. When the nervous system is under pressure, movement can feel restricted. Diaphragmatic breathing can help engage the centre of the body and encourage a shift towards a calmer rest-and-restore state.#movedailyfitness #myofascialrelease #healthandwellness #fascialfitness

The hips and core are deeply connected through one of the body’s most important muscles — the psoas. This deep muscle links the spine, pelvis, and legs, playing a major role in posture, stability, balance, and movement. What many people don’t realize is that the psoas is also closely connected to the diaphragm, our primary breathing muscle.

With every deep diaphragmatic breath, the diaphragm moves downward and gently massages the psoas through their shared fascial connections. This natural internal movement helps release tension, improve circulation, and calm the nervous system.
By slowing down and breathing slowly through the nose into the ribs, and lower back, we restore communication between the breath, core, and hips. A healthy psoas creates more freedom, stability, and ease throughout the entire body.

I attended a deeply experiential workshop at the @movingfascia HQ.
Led by the one and only @barretxeguren we explored splitting the leg, postural pelvic rotation, spirals, folding and unfolding, following the direction of ease and more!
Using the fabulous @movingfascia balls 🎾 on the Pilates studio apparatus.
I really enjoyed meeting and working closely with @stephannyturton and sharing the day with other great teachers @seascapepilatesworthing @natashajpilates @annapearce_pilatescorner @summerhouse_pilates and the beautiful Aya 🐈‍⬛
Much gratitude for this enriching experience 🙏

Last weekend I had the joy of sharing Moving Fascia @movingfascia in Denmark with a wonderful group of movement teachers.

I am now travelling home slowly, slowly through Germany, grounded by train travel and full of inspiration.

I’m grateful to be able share the work like this, in a room full of care, curiosity and depth.

Grateful for this Copenhagen circle of movement teachers who joined me exploring fascia and movement with such warmth, openness, thoughtful questions, sensitive reflections, quiet integration and plenty of laughter.

Grateful to Charlotte from Moving Mensch Pilates and @pilatesmovementeducation for being such wonderful hosts.

And now… the long and slow journey home.

This I joined a completely wonderful course with a very special person 💖 Ana Baretxeguren from Moving Fascia 💫

I have been following the fascia movement through many many many years... Ana is one of the very few people I have met who is able to not only convey intense theory and science, but also able to embody and work it into the bppdy and the tissue itself 🌟 I love it 🥰

If you would like to listen to Ana's work right away, I have an episode in my podcast with her 👂

Please find it at my website link in bio 🔗 Go to my Breath Blog 🎧 Also use the link right here ⤵️

Training the core through the fascial system — improving proprioception, balance, deep stability, and full-body coordination. Rather than isolating muscles, we work with interconnected fascial lines that transfer force and information throughout the body. This approach builds elastic strength, refines controlled transitions between positions, and enhances nervous system awareness so movement becomes more responsive, efficient, and resilient.

Through mindful, slow movements and rest-and-digest breathwork, we emphasize nasal breathing to naturally support deeper core activation. By pairing breath with subtle balance challenges, we stimulate the deep stabilizing muscles in a integrated way. Moving with intention, we gradually expand and improve range of motion, improve joint function, and cultivate a calm, regulated nervous system that supports strength and awareness.

We had a fabulous two days with Ana @barretxeguren last week deepening our students’ knowledge and understanding of the breath, diaphragm and exploring some of the many relationships they each have with the rest of the body and the nervous system.

Ana is the perfect complement to what we already teach here at the School in our Fascial Bodywork Diploma, bringing more of the movement element to our work, as well as a wealth of anatomical knowledge (which I can personally never get enough of!).

Thank you Ana @movingfascia and thank you to all that attended for a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days! We have plans to run more workshops in the future so watch this space for more info when it comes!
