Strength is more than lifting heavier. It’s building a body you can keep moving with for years to come.

FACT: After age 30, we can naturally lose roughly 3–8% of our muscle mass per decade if we don’t actively work against it.

That loss doesn’t just mean becoming weaker.

It can impact how easily we get up and down, carry things, climb stairs, recover from a fall, pursue the activities we love, and maintain our independence.

The good news? Strength training is one of the most effective tools we have to fight back.

And Lynne is a great example of what that can look like. 💪

Here she is moving a 48 kg kettlebell with strength, control, and confidence.

Building and maintaining strength today isn’t just about getting stronger for your next workout.

It’s about train to move well for decades to come.

Train for the life you want to keep living.

Still working. Always working.

A month builds awareness.
A year builds capability.
Three years builds character.

We often overestimate what can happen in a few weeks and underestimate what consistent practice can create over a few years.

The arm didn't just become stronger. The artist became more skilled. The eye became more discerning. The hand became more patient.

That's why I invested in a three year-long mentorship.

Because I am the kind of person who keeps showing up long enough for years to compound.

Start where you are.
Stay with the process.

Let time reveal who you're becoming.

Real-Life Movement

I am (continually) learning how to ask better questions...

Rather than "What does this muscle do?"

Consider "When does this muscle perform and which plane?"

Receiving better answers to the WHY

Strength Flexibility

It’s about being strong in those deep, end-range positions.

Kettlebells are the ultimate tool.

The Turkish get-up is a total-body masterpiece. It transitions you from lying down to standing while holding a load overhead, demanding shoulder stability, hip mobility, and core integration.

The windmill builds incredible lateral hip mobility and teaches the shoulder to remain stable while the torso rotates and hinges.

It bridges the gap between raw power and fluid movement, reducing injury risk and improving athletic performance.

Same but different

I've been cleaning and jerking kettlebells for fourteen years.

It's only recently within the last few that I've begun to see more of the possibilities.

Particularly with stance and footwork.

The dumbbell works well for these adventures as well!

We're in year two of incorporating more three-dimensionality into the program at @kettlebellcrosstraining

“Discipline equals freedom”

It’s about choice.

When you apply discipline to the inputs (your habits, attention, training, and recovery), you gain freedom in the outputs:

Freedom of movement in your body

Freedom from mental noise and indecision

Freedom to respond instead of react

Freedom to rest without guilt

From a holistic lens— discipline is powerful intentional consistency:

Showing up for movement so your body stays adaptable

Training breath for stress management and behavior

Creating structure so silence and presence become accessible

Discipline builds capacity across dimensions, and freedom is the expression of that capacity in real life.
