Well I didn’t run 100.

Made it to 92.69 miles. 22hr 46min 17sec after we started.

As disappointing as it may be to have had to stop less than 8 miles from the finish, it was the right call.

Heat exhaustion was taking over and I was getting progressively worse.

This run was not a failure. Many of the guys completed the 100 miles and did it in impressive fashion.

The smiles. The encouragement. The high energy. All of it was for one goal.

Unite young Americans that love their country and love one another.

We have an opportunity to be better today because of what we learned yesterday.

These men and women who ran, crewed, documented, and planned this event are a part of who will make impact in this country.

Although I am frustrated with not getting to say I’ve run 100 miles, I am full of joy.

If I run 100 miles - my identity is in Christ.
If I don’t run 100 miles - my identity is in Christ.

Simple as that.

Have a blessed day.

I had the opportunity to participate in a study at UCCS this week!

The goal was to determine critical speed and lactate threshold

This was the first of two workouts (one in the lab and the second on an outdoor track)

The results will be compared to determine the accuracy of a “field test” (ie outdoor track) compared to a controlled lab environment

This data is extremely fascinating to me. I am excited to learn about what my body is capable of and how I can best use it!
