The Wapta was pretty stellar a couple of days ago.

missing last winter’s backcountry dance parties (and the amount Kokomo was sung on the uptrack).

took a lot of “wow” breaks throughout the season, and although not everything we tried for went, I’m so thankful for the time spent waking/laughing/exploring/storytelling/deciding the best nacho toppings/taking fake interviews/not puking in @taylor__musgrave tent.. etc.

I lost a bit of the season to a concussion, and there were a few days my body should have stayed on the couch for various reasons, but for the most part, time on skis felt pretty damn good.

dusting out my drafts 10 months late.. whoops 💃🏼

We may be dealing with an abnormal snowpack this season, but we’re still getting out and having lots of fun in the mountains. Adjusting one’s goals and objectives is a fundamental part of the decision making process when there’s an elevated level of uncertainty.

It would have been great to ski the bigger line yesterday, but there’s a deep persistent weak layer in the snowpack and my level of uncertainty about it was too high to accept the risk of exposing my group to it.

Did we have any less fun? Not really. Was it a beautiful day to learn new skills and enjoy the alpine? Certainly. Will that line be there another day? Definitely.

Making good decisions is hard; it requires discipline and maturity. That slope looked great and I really wanted to ski it. But vigilant pole probing and a comprehensive understanding of the current snowpack structure (and its inherent weakness) made me choose a more conservative descent.

Has it already been a month?

The WNDR Roost is an event I look forward to every year. Great folks, good skiing, and stylish shirts.
Lucky to be apart of such a solid crew @wndr_alpine

Too many grinz to count from the last few weeks. Our third annual WNDR Roost, tours with friends from near and far, and of course some excellent high alpine high fashion. Sincerely thankful for everyone who made the good times so good.

Just wanted to share some of my favorite shots documenting the rad people that make up the @wndr_alpine community during the WNDR ROOST Event.

Consisting of dreamers, innovators, athletes, Jerry’s, engineers, customers, but mainly individuals that promote true meaning of community while gettin high. Stoked to have gotten to be a part of this.

I’ll be taking time to show some BTS of the 3 day WNDR Roost event on my story 🤘🏽

Swipe to the last photo— my favorite photo I’ve probably ever taken #treadlightchargehard
