''I'm puttin' on my top hat
Tyin' up my white tie
Brushin' off my tails
I'm dudin' up my shirt front
Puttin' in the shirt studs
Polishin' my nails.''

Good day to you chaps, last week I successfully learnt to tie a bow tie with thanks to a great friend!

This was good news to me as I had two events last week that I was able to wear white tie attire, The first event was a performance of Porgy & Bess, the opera, and the second was a Southport Speakeasy 1920s Jazz Night run by @mr_anthony_mason

White tie is the most formal evening dress a chap can wear.

I am wearing:

. A stiff-fronted Marcella bib front tunic shirt and a starched detachable wing collar.

. A Marcella self-tie bow tie.

. A marcella stiff backless waistcoat with mother-of-pearl buttons

. A 1939 dated, beautiful condition evening tailcoat that fits perfectly. It has very nice, wide, peaked lapels and pockets inside the tails.

. A pair of high-waisted button fly fishtail back pleated evening trousers with a stripe down the side, held up by a pair of vintage button braces.

. For accessories I am wearing a pair of well-polished cap-toe oxford shoes (until I can find a pair of patent leather opera pumps), Antique white evening gloves, a Silk Plush Top Hat and a 1908 Waltham pocket watch. (I also wore a white scarf)

The shirt, collar, bow tie, top hat and trousers are from @sundaybestvintageclothes. The tailcoat and trousers were gifted to me by @mr_anthony_mason

If you ever get a chance to wear full white tie evening wear, I do recommend it.
