🍇 🍷👀
Turning grapes into wine for @amisfieldvineyard & @alpinewineco

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

550 native plants. One morning. Many hands.

A morning spent with our hands in the soil beneath Mount Pisa, as our teams from across the vineyard, winery, restaurant, cellar door and office came together to give back to the land we call home.

With blank canvas adjacent to our Block 1 Rocky Knoll, we saw an opportunity to restore this part of the landscape through native planting.

Lancewood, kōwhai, kānuka, coprosma, olearia and corokia are now in the ground, helping to stabilise the soil, encourage biodiversity and create habitats for native birds, pollinators and beneficial insects. Over time, these plantings will also contribute to capturing carbon and regenerating the wider ecosystem.

A small but meaningful step in our ongoing commitment to caring for this remarkable place, and a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when our people come together.

Fantastic week with the @amisfieldvineyard team, including my new four-legged friends. So many inspiring discussions on organic farming in the Mount Pisa sub-district and the incredible detail applied in our vineyard and in the cellar.

Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand 2027, Committee member @mrbenjay Ben Leen, Winemaker, Amisfield

What excites me about New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc? The grape that put us on the global wine map! Talk about stamping your authority. Along with being renowned as having a beautifully dramatic landscape, we are equally as well-known for producing totally unique Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, it wasn’t until I spent time overseas that I truly understood its uniqueness. Sauvignon at Amisfield is special to us. We have the largest planting in Central. We craft two styles; fresh and vibrant bursting with flavour and a more restrained barrel-aged version showing SBs versatility. Both delicious and equally important to our portfolio. I’m stoked to be part of the SB27 Committee. It’s going to be a huge celebration!

💚

I will leave you with this hack: For an electric breakfast cocktail try Gin & freshly squeezed SB Juice over ice. Only available at harvest. @snoopdogg would be proud.

Effervescent and lively a crisp fresh acidity reminiscent of biting into berry sorbet.
