NEW MUSIC! Delighted to say Many Men Soundsystem’s second recording “Seabird” is out now on Rita Records. Head to your local Our Price or Woolworths now to pick up your CD. Alternatively stream it on Spotify or Apple etc.

Produced and Mixed by Ben Jackson (@mrbjjackson)
Recorded by Brendan at @cornish_underground_

Seabird is a song from The Alessi Brothers released in 1976 . I guess it’s about a simple small town guy’s on off relationship with a free spirited girl who likes to travel.

I discovered this song via my friend James playing me the cover by The Innovations (also from 70s). A lot of our harmonies come from that version. Both recordings are special and have a cool yet melancholy vibe (one of my favourite vibes).

This one of those songs that didn’t even chart in its day but has stood the test of time and is being discovered by new people thanks to popping up Spotify playlists and discover feeds purely by virtue of being a great tune.

Anyway, hope you like the tune. Looking forward to singing it tonight at @bedruthansteps @stacks_bythesea

The video will be released soon. I think you’re going to like it…

Chrrrs!
Ben

Following a fifteen-year tenure and their final album “The King is Dead, Long Live the King,” To Kill A King (@tokillaking ) prepare for their final shows in Germany. We sat down with Ralph Pelleymounter to discuss the architecture of the exit - from his South Yorkshire roots, writing for Bastille’s ‘&’ (Ampersand) project and telling other peoples’ stories.

The King is dead. Long live the songwriter.

We're still feeling blessed after Saturday night's show at @stagnesmmi . Thanks to everyone who came down to our first headline show and to celebrate Many Men Soundsystem's first birthday! 🎈

Pumped to get out there next year.

Here's some clips from the night. Our versions of "The Night" by Frankie Valli, "Chop Suey" by System of a Down and "My Girls" by Animal Collective.

Massive thanks to @elizashaddad for joining us to sing "Tilted" at the end!

OUT NOW

When I told the men I wanted to stop Men Are Singing, there was an audible gasp of deflation. Sadness, anger, relief, confusion - was all felt in the room.

So I asked the men what they wanted from the last six months of Men Are Singing?

“We want to make a vinyl album” they said. “And to go on a camping trip”

And that’s what we did. As well make a farewell stage show, write new songs together, create merch, go on a coach trip, a ferry outing, all of which helped us to embrace the ending in a powerful and ritualistic way.

This album now stands as marker of where we got to, sonically. It’s been tinkered with and dreamt into something else by the producing wizard @mrbjjackson and we can’t wait for you to listen. And listen again.

It may be a whole year after we finished, but the MAS legacy lives on with this album, the new incarnation of @manymensoundsystem and the sweet hugging that happens, whenever the men see each other around Cornwall.

Please help yourself to this album, we hope you enjoy.
